In our last post, we shared the amount raised and celebrated the success of the event. But now, I want to recognize the people who are truly the reason this event continues to happen year after year.
First and foremost, this ride began and continues each year in memory of Ned Shreve.
Ned was more than just a customer to us. He was a friend, one of those people everyone knew, and someone whose life was taken far too soon.
Each year before this event, I reach out to his wife, Carrie Shreve, to ask how she feels about us continuing this tradition in his memory. Every year, she and their son, continue to show up, support the ride, and allow us the honor of keeping Ned’s memory alive through this event.
That means more than I can put into words.
This year, this event also carried even deeper meaning.
Risa Crum, who many know as Otis’s mom, showed up to support this ride after losing her own son.
Moments like that are a reminder of why events like this matter so much.
But beyond that, I need to acknowledge the incredible people who helped make this event happen.
This event did not come together because of me alone. It came together because of people who willingly gave their time, energy, talent, and heart.
Kayla King — I truly cannot say enough. Kayla spent countless hours buying and putting together raffle baskets, helped me finalize details, spent the day before traveling with me to all of our stops dropping off paperwork, and was there constantly helping tie everything together.
Without her, this fundraiser would have looked completely different.
Aimee Reeves put together an amazing cooler full of awesome prizes that became a huge hit in our raffles.
Trinda Kirk — Every single year Trinda shows up and donates her time helping with registration and selling tickets. She is dependable every year, and I appreciate her more than she knows.
Billy McClay — My go-to for whatever needs done. Billy spent the day helping with beer sales, food, setup, and anything else we needed without hesitation. ❤️
My mom and dad, Lela Haga & Gene Haga — As always, doing absolutely anything and everything I ask of them and stepping in wherever needed.
Huge thank you to Troy DeVolld, Craig Noll, and RJ McVicker for cooking the chicken dinners. The food was incredible and people absolutely loved it.
Thank you to Amanda Harper for helping with delivery.
Thank you to our poker run stops for helping make the ride possible:
• Moose Lodge 221
• Eagles 2952
• Oasis
Thank you to Paul Paul E. Pfau with PPA Gun Sales for helping us secure the fi****ms that made our gun raffles possible.
Thank you to Phase 2, Scott Palagyi, for bringing the entertainment and helping make the night such an incredible ending to an amazing day.
Thank you to my staff who helped keep everything moving all day long.
Ginny Kirk, Carolyn Pierce, and Andrea Hartong for running the store.
CaSara Danaher, Jenna Johnson, and Bethann Danford for serving beer, food, and providing amazing customer service.
Marissa Breese, who came in at 7am to make sure breakfast was ready for our early opening.
Clayton Harold and Savannah Bates for working the kitchen.
And special recognition to Savannah, who spent the night before making homemade biscuits from scratch for breakfast.
Thank you to Jordan Dennis and Skyler Dotson, who spent the entire week leading up to the ride helping me get everything updated and ready.
Thank you to Logan Walters and our summer youth helper Lily Fry for helping serve chicken dinners.
Thank you to Amber Amber N Ron Fry, who came in the day before to help us finish preparations.
Thank you to Kolten White and Owen Parrish for helping us the day before and jumping in where needed.
And thank you to every single person who bought tickets, rode in the poker run, bought dinners, came for entertainment, supported Stella and her family, or played even the smallest role in making this event happen.
The truth is this…
The day was amazing.
The raffles were amazing.
The food was amazing.
The music was amazing.
But most importantly…
The people were amazing.
This event was never about one person or one business.
It was a reminder of what a community can do when people care enough to show up for each other.
I hope every single person who helped knows this:
You mattered. You made a difference. And none of this would have happened without you.
From the bottom of my heart…
Thank you ❤️
