It's the breeding season on the farm! Getting the litters scheduled for the year. We had a successful breeding with 2 of the 3 pairings today. All virgin buns so I'm impressed. Each doe will be bred 3 times giving us 18 litters across the season.

Once the weather cools off a little bit later in the week I'll get photos of our new breeders uploaded.

It was a busy day outside. It was hot but with the humidity so much lower it wasn't miserable. Got three beds planted with fall crops. Oh, and finally got around to stakingbup those peppers I planted in spring 😆
As we sat outside enjoying the breeze we had a doe followed by an 8 point buck hang out for a while

I had a bonus day off and spent it sweating my @$$ off. But the garden is reset and ready for fall/winter. Removed all the old dead spring/summer plants and weeds. Sprinkled in some cover crop of sun h**p, iron clay pea and red ripper pea. Then covered it all with rabbit poo.
Tomorrow I'll get my tomato and flower seeds started. Over the next few weeks different seeds will get started and and plants be transplanted. Fingers crossed for a fruitful garden.

It was a very late night, getting home just after 10, but today we welcome Dahoon (doe) and Redbud (buck) from RoseOak Ranch: TAMUK Composite Meat Rabbits. Thank you Dunn Critter Transport for getting them from Texas to Floirda.

In a few weeks once all the juniors fill in some better I'll update our breeders albums. We have 6 new breeders in our line up.

It's that time of year again!! Thanks to Hunsader for once again supplying our annual canning tomato needs. We had help picking the field this year 🤣. Hoping to make lots of yummy things here soon.

An exciting day today. We just got home from picking up two new bucks from Parks Homestead/Meat Rabbits . Meet Bay (lightly marked chocolate harli) and Tupelo (harlequinized black chinchilla). Special thanks to PJ LaRue Smith for helping meet the transport. And thanks to Six Feathers Farm for their safe transport from Texas to SW Florida.
