Pitney Meadows Community Farm Contact information, map and directions, contact form, opening hours, services, ratings, photos, videos and announcements from Pitney Meadows Community Farm, Farm, 223 West Avenue, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Our mission is to grow food, community, and connection, and to educate about the natural world right here on our conserved farm in the heart of Saratoga Springs 🌱 💚 Pitney Meadows Community Farm was founded in 2016 to preserve the last operating farm in Saratoga Springs, and to forge a new mission for the 166-acre property in sustainable farming, education in agriculture, and the training of young

farmers. We're off to a fast start with the construction of our 55-bed Community Gardens and a 6,000-square foot high tunnel that serves both as an event space and greenhouse for growing vegetables. Major priorities going forward include the establishment of our Children's Garden and Greenhouse, renovation of existing farm buildings, and the development of trails along Geyser Creek for education and recreation.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how light, shadow, and the passage of time shape both the landscape and our experience of it. Drawing inspiration from the season around us, we’ll reflect on moments of stillness, warmth, growth, and change, transforming our observations into vivid, sensory-rich poetry and prose.

🌱 Whether you’re a lifelong writer, an occasional journaler, or simply someone curious about seeing the world differently, there is space for you here!

💚 This spring, we welcomed the season and some of the amazing people who have helped make Pitney Meadows what it is today. Our Board and Advisory Council came together for the first time as one group at the farm… a meaningful moment to celebrate a shared commitment to this land, our mission, and our community. It was an evening filled with stories, reflection, and gratitude as we celebrated the many individuals whose wisdom, guidance, and belief in Pitney Meadows have helped shape our first ten years and inspire the years ahead.

💚 We dedicated a handcrafted cedar bench, as a part of our Dedication Bench program, adorned with a woven willow “ribbon” braided with spring wildflowers. The bench bears the inscription: “Dedicated to The Advisory Council. Past, Present, and Future. You Will Always Have a Place at the Farm.”

💚 This beautiful tribute was envisioned and made possible by Barbara Glaser, Chair of our Advisory Council, founding patron, steadfast supporter, and cherished friend of Pitney Meadows Community Farm. Her extraordinary generosity, leadership, and deep belief in the mission of Pitney Meadows have left an indelible mark on this farm and community.

💚 The bench, positioned to overlook the landscape and catch the evening light, serves as a lasting reminder that the people who help steward this place are forever woven into its story. It is also a reflection of Barbara’s enduring legacy of commitment, community, and belonging, one that will continue to inspire all who gather here for years to come.

💚 Barbara, thank you for your extraordinary dedication and for the love you pour into this farm. Through this gift, you have created not only a place to rest, reflect, and connect but also a lasting symbol of gratitude.

💚 To every member of our Advisory Council, past and present: thank you. Your guidance, vision, and belief in this community have helped Pitney Meadows grow from an idea into a thriving place of belonging.

🌱 Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Friends of the Farm Open House. Seeing so many supporters, volunteers, educators, neighbors, partners, and friends gathered together was a beautiful reminder of what makes this place so special: community.

💚 A heartfelt thank you to our incredible panelists: Erika Schielke of Skidmore College, Leah Ferrone of Brave Lion Mindfulness and Movement and Nurtured in Nature, Charlotte and Maya (two of our inspiring Nature Champions and Nurtured in Nature participants), and Damian Ubriaco of Saratoga Springs High School.

🌱 Thank you for sharing your experiences, insights, and stories of connection to the farm. Erika led guests in identifying bees in the garden, helping us take a closer look at the pollinators that make so much of our work possible. Charlotte and Maya shared a thoughtful lesson on maple syrup production and identifying maple trees, showcasing the knowledge and confidence they’ve gained through their time at the farm. Damian offered a glimpse into the reflections of his students by sharing excerpts from their nature journals, highlighting the power of place-based learning and observation.

💚 Together, your stories beautifully illustrated the many ways learning takes root at Pitney Meadows… from scientific discovery and environmental stewardship to youth leadership, creativity, and connection to the natural world.

🍋 We’re also so grateful to Lemon Drop for generously providing their fresh-squeezed lemonade. If you enjoyed a glass (or should we say small bucket) last night, be sure to keep an eye out for their pop-ups around the region and consider them for your next event! Their delicious lemonade, warm presence, and commitment to community made the evening that much sweeter!

✨ As we celebrate our 10th season, nights like this remind us that Pitney Meadows is so much more than a farm. It’s a place where people come together, build relationships, learn from one another, and create something meaningful. Thank you for being part of it. We are grateful for each and every one of you!

🌱 On Friday, June 5th, kick off “Poetry from the Land” with us and slow down and look closely at the often-overlooked details of the land in “Noticing the Small.” From the veins of a leaf to the movement of insects through the soil, we’ll focus our attention on the small moments that make up a larger ecosystem. We’ll practice deep observation and translate these quiet discoveries into vivid, grounded writing.

💭 Together, participants will let their minds and pens wander through fields glowing in evening light, listen closely to the quiet movement of the natural world, and discover how the land itself can spark powerful, deeply personal writing. Rooted in observation, imagination, memory, and reflection, this series invites writers of all experience levels to slow down, notice more deeply, and put those discoveries into words!

🌱 Whether you’re a lifelong writer, an occasional journaler, or simply someone curious about seeing the world differently, there is space for you here!
