Looking for ways to preserve the summer harvest? Try quick pickling your veggies! No canning supplies necessary, just heat safe jars. Make a brine with vinegar, salt, sugar, and herbs. Pour over veggies in individual heat safe jars and let cool before storing in the refrigerator. With this method you can preserve veggies with minimal effort! Quick pickles can last up to a month in the fridge!

Enjoy the farmers' market every Saturday from 9am-1pm.

Buying local produce has so many incredible benefits! As the world continues to become more industrialized, small local farms consistently deliver the same high standards of quality year after year!

When Sourcing Produce Locally:
🍓Supply chain is direct from their farm to your kitchen

🍉Get to know who grows your food. Shopping at the farmers' market provides a wonderful opportunity to ask about their farm and where it was grown

🌿All produce found at the farmers' market is grown in California often traveling on average less than 90 miles to market.

Before heading to market, take inventory of your produce. If it is a little soft or wilted, don't worry, there is still life in it yet!
🍅Transform your tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers into a cooling gazpacho or fresh salsa
🍓Simmer fruit into a fresh compote and drizzle over a scoop of ice cream
🍉Freeze watermelon in triangles and shred in a fine grater for a healthy spin on shaved ice
🍓Make smoothies and freeze in popsicle molds
🌿Transform wilted fresh herbs and make a pesto, herbed butter, herbed salt, or dry them and store in jars

Life gets busy. Finding simple and fast ways to extend the life of your produce will have your household enjoying summer flavors for a longer period of time. Preserving doesn't have to be a long complicated process, streamline and simplify the process with a blender, food processor, freezer, and your stove.
