I absolutely hate racoons... This morning we found the door of our calico bantam cochin coop wide open. We have lost the majority of our whole calico flock :(

Here is a few pictures of our crazy bessed life :) Homesteading is not always picturesque and easy. It is a journey of constant change and adaptations. Lol some days it is also just overwhelming and there is always something that needs to be done. I wish time would just slow down.... My husband and I both work full time; and our kids are growing older with new challenges. Our large garden is now more of a flower garden with a few vegetables. Our orchard is filled with growing young trees that produce bug filled fruit (we keep missing the window to spray.) The chickens are still here but our plans have been cut back to a more manageable level. We are now also a duck-less homestead. However all in all we are happy; frustrated at times... But happy. Fingers crossed this weekend we can finally get the rest of my flowers planted, pumpkins planted, peas picked, pool put up, and my husband will get to play with his new mower. Hahaha lets see how it goes.

We have bantam calico cochin hatching eggs available. We also use solid buff bantam cochins to get the coloring that we wanted. Please note calico is considered a project feather type and will not always breed true... However they are still pure bantam cochins.

We have a baby boy bunny available :) He is a mini lop mix. Our daughter Rose didnt shut one of the boy's cages all of the way and he broke loose. Our little teddy had a wild night of passion with four lovely ladies. Luckily we just had a litter of four babies, with three making it. We are going to keep the two girls but this little guy needs a home.

Look at those colors! We are so ready for spring :) I know that we have been a little quiet lately and not posing very often. Our family took a little step back from our home steading activities to focus on our family. Our girls are getting older and needing more time for extra curricular activities. We also used this time for a reflection to discuss what works for us and our plans for the future. We will soon have hatching eggs available and some adult bantam cochins up for discussion.
