It’s been a dry a spring. I don’t think I’ve ever cultivated in April. If you rain dance, cut a rug for Saline County. We need 30 inches to catch up. Peas and beans are coming up!

It was a good afternoon to plant some Purple Hulls. 22 rows, planted by hand. Finished up just as the sun was going to bed. Hope it rains next week!

We got 20, 200 foot rows of Kentucky Wonder 125 planted this afternoon. Now we gotta water them in and wait for sprouts. If you plan on buying from the Co-Op this year, you’d better get up there and get it before it’s gone!

It’s spring time here at Big Red Farms. Here we are disking the turnips under to get the fields ready for peas this year. Get out and plant something!

This was a friend of mine’s grandpa’s 1975 JD 830 Gen 2 diesel. We tuned her up and greased her down for him. Just needed to stretch her legs after setting a few years. She ran like a Singer sewing machine. Yes we work on green ones too! 🤣

We mowed the winter wheat down, and turned it under using our 1951 Farmall C pulling a 1948 David Bradley 14” two bottom plow.

Farmall 1256 with 14 foot JD cutting disk.

We bust the pea vines up with the 14 foot cutting disk, in prep for food plot/cover crop. Come watch the ol 1256 roll some coal.

We finally got the new clutch in little red. Hopefully this one will last more than 3 years!

We break in the new 4-pad clutch in the 51 Farmall C. Knocking down purple hull pea vines, and getting ready to disk for food plots.
