“Your marriage will be better if your bedroom is clean.”

“Your husband will be happier if he comes home to a clean room.”

“Your relationship will improve if the laundry is put away and the clutter is gone.”

And honestly? There is some truth to all of those statements.

A peaceful room feels different. A made bed feels different. Walking into a clean, calm space at the end of a long day affects everyone in the house.

But here’s what I’ve learned…

The person who benefits most from a clean bedroom isn’t your husband.

It’s you.

As women, we spend so much time taking care of everyone else that we often forget to create a space that takes care of us.

Your bedroom should be your sanctuary.

The place where you can exhale.

The place where the noise stops.

The place where you begin and end your day.

A clean bedroom isn’t about impressing anyone. It’s not about being the perfect wife, the perfect homemaker, or having a Pinterest-worthy house.

It’s about being kind to yourself.

It’s about creating a space that says, “I matter too.”

Because when your bedroom feels peaceful, you feel more peaceful.

And sometimes the greatest gift you can give yourself isn’t a vacation, a shopping trip, or a spa day.

Sometimes it’s simply walking into a room at the end of the day that feels like a refuge instead of another responsibility.

Did you know when you are highly favored you are also highly hated by some?

And hate is such a strong word but it’s so true.

People think favored means “easy life”. It doesn’t. They think favor means money, cars, material things but it doesn’t.
You can be highly favored and struggle every single day and walk through tremendously storms!

A highly favored person is almost always misunderstood, judged and talked about. And if you aren’t careful you will spend your whole life trying to make them understand you when they can’t. The WORLD doesn’t understand His ways.

I finally, at 53, understand that and there isn’t one part of me that cares what the world thinks of me. These days I walk differently. Not because I am better than anyone else but because I know who I am and Who’s I am.

I know the prayers He’s answered. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I know the doors He’s opened. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I know the battles He’s fought for me.

And I know that no amount of gossip, jealousy, rejection, or misunderstanding can stop what God has ordained.

When you truly understand God’s favor, you stop chasing approval.
You stop explaining yourself to people committed to misunderstanding you.
Not because everyone loves you but because God does. And let me tell you……it’s nice!

And when God has favored it no one can stop it! 🙏🏻🤍🪴🙏🏻🤍🪴

Did I tell you that I clean houses now? Like you can hire me to clean your home. I’m actually really good at it too. Said in the most humble tone.

But it also messes with me mentally. Not because I am embarrassed or ashamed. Actually I am really proud of myself but sometimes out of the blue feelings come.

This week I sat at a clients table for a small break and the thought hit me……

“I used to be the one with a cleaning lady and now I am the cleaning lady”

In that moment I felt the weight of that and I broke. Not because of any reason except life just doesn’t look like I thought it would at 53. Not because there is anything wrong with cleaning houses as it’s hard work. It’s honest work. It’s rewarding in so many ways. But for a second I felt that grief creep in even after 7 years of being a widow.

I went from having help to being the help but then I dried my tears, stood up, got back to work and remembered there is NO SHAME in honest work. NONE!

God isn’t less proud of me for cleaning someone else’s toilet than He was when I was hosting dinner parties, decorating my home, and being a housewife to my husband and kids.

In fact, He’s teaching me humility, gratitude, resilience and dignity that comes with hard work and earning a living and one day I’ll look back at the me sitting at her table with tears and be proud that I did it!

I’m not cleaning houses because I failed it’s because I am rebuilding something great!

And for that I am proud……🙏🏻🪴🤍🧺

The day we fell in love with Sarita Farms! These pictures are the day we came to view the property. My hubby said “ok you know that after we look at this house you won’t look at anymore as I know you” and he was right it was love at first sight! Every old inch of it! Every weathered board, every old tree, every creaking floor, every inch of this place felt like home.

I pictured us rocking on the porch every morning for the next fifty years! But……

Life didn’t unfold the way we thought it would.

Sarita Farms became more than a house.

It watched our children grow. It watched my world turn upside down by betrayal after betrayal. It watched me and my children shed many tears. It watched as we all grew into strong, resilient people.

It watched me become a widow. It held me through the hardest season of my life. It became the place where God met me time after time.

Looking at these pictures now, I see more than a property.
I see my little girl carrying her favorite stuffed animal ready to be a country girl and be outside with her daddy everyday.

I see a little boy in boots ready for adventure, dirt and animals. Another little boy ready to drive the tractor and learn to mow.

I see children who would grow up here and leave their footprints on this land forever.

And I see a woman who had no idea how much this place would change her and how she will forever cherish the good times here but also the hard times!

That day I thought I was buying a house.

Instead, I found home.
I hope the next owners feel what I feel here! That’s my prayer! 🙏🏻 🤍

The thing I love the most about Rockport Central Market is the friends I have made! I’ve really wondered if the Lord is leading me that way for my sunset years or my final chapter as I call it. I only sold six tickets for the first workshop I held at the market but it was so fun! We laughed, we learned about plants, we drank some wine, and most of all we all became fast friends! My heart was and still is FULL!

Sarita Farms & Rockport Central Market are excited to announce our July Summer Series in beautiful downtown Rockport! 🐟🌴

Our third market brought together over 40 vendors, incredible foot traffic, and shoppers that sold out many of us!

With Rockport packed with summer visitors, we’re excited to build on that momentum with three July markets.
