I just came from a walk through the Sunflower field at Perlick Distillery. It’s absolutely beautiful today! A nice combination of full blooms and just opening ones…my favorite stage of all! Come out and enjoy it if you can!🌻

2024 Sunflower Maze
Update July 28th, 2024

It is almost time for the 2024 Sunflower Maze at Perlick Farms and Perlick Distillery! The maze is located West of the distillery this year.
Perlick Distillery address: W5150 County Highway B, Sarona WI 54870

The first maze was planted the 30th of May and the second maze on the 11th of June anticipating flowering to be around 60 days later which would have been the first week of August. Unfortunately, the sunflowers have had a couple of setbacks this year, slugs and cutworms have been raising havoc on the plants, subsequently we had to replant the maze twice and still have a very poor stand. The weather was such that rainy, cool and overcast conditions are also perfect for slugs to feed.

In light of the condition of the maze this year we will still open in about 10-14 days ( August 8-11? This is estimated. We will update here closer to the time)

There will not be an admission fee as the quality is so poor. There will be a donation box at the entrance of the field so please contribute if you chose, otherwise just enjoy the maze as it is. The good news is the flowering will be extended over a longer period of time. We anticipate once they start to flower there will be flowers through the middle of September!

Mother Nature is a harsh teacher, she gives you the test...and then the lesson!

-The Sunflower Maze is closing for the season. You may still walk the maze, but the blooms in the big maze are completely done blooming, and the blooms in the small maze are drooping now.
-In a couple of months we’ll harvest them for birdseed. We sell them in 50 # bags here at the farm , and locally to various outlets.
-We have seeds available now from last years crop.

Maze update 8-17-23

The Sunflower Maze is still open. The Sunflowers in the first maze that was planted, named the “Big Maze” are starting to droop. Still pretty, but not perky! The second planting or the “Small Maze” is in full bloom. Very pretty this weekend! We anticipate that in a week, by Aug 24th or so, all the blooms will be drooping so the sooner you can get here the better!
