Black Water Ranch Black Water Ranch is a family operated farm in Saugerties NY. We produce Antibiotic & hormone free Beef and Pork the way Nature intended.

Our mission is to provide quality meats that are healthier and safer than mass produced meat supplied at the store. Black Water Ranch lies in the great Hudson Valley region of New York between Woodstock and Saugerties. It is a traditional family operated ranch with roots dating back to the 1640s ancestors; the Freer family who were Huguenots who founded New Paltz and the Traphagens who founded Rhi

nebeck. Our mission is to provide quality meats that are healthier and safer then mass produced meat supplied at the store. All of our hay and feed are locally sourced within the community supporting other family farms like ourselves. We want to take it even further then that; we want to help supply your family with the healthy and natural foods that nature intended. There is simply no greater source of protein than from animals born and raised locally and naturally at Black Water Ranch.

With little to no wind or weather, the cows can hear our call from the far end of the field. Depending on how excited they are, it usually only takes a minute or two for them to come bounding into the barn yard!

We would like to introduce Bree the lamb! Being a twin; she was rejected by her mother in favor of her sister. If left alone she would eventually starve from her mother refusing to let her nurse. She has been given a second chance however and is currently residing on the porch where she is bottle fed until she can fend for herself with the rest of our flock. This isn’t the first time we’ve experienced this and she is expected to grow up nice and strong just like her sister!
