Today's a high of 87 and the humidity is already at 77%, which is making it feel like it's in the 90s. I was sweating away while filling up the mushroom tanks for shock when this little chipmunk decided he too wanted to play in the cool well water. More specifically, he wanted a nice cool drink of water. Since I was still filling up the tubs, he decided to settle for the condensation on the hose itself. We hung out together the whole duration I was filling up the tanks and just as I was about to leave, he too scooted away underneath some of the pallets for the mushrooms. Small moments like this serve as beautiful reminders that we are all part of nature. Stay cool!

Our Riveredge grown shiitake mushrooms are ready for you to enjoy! You can find them in the Riveredge Nature Center's store located inside our visitor center. Come for a hike and leave with some beautiful, dehydrated mushrooms. 😋

Like the weather, these two Riveredge folks are feeling pretty cool. 😎 Unlike the weather, it's because they have fresh asparagus!

That's right, it's that time of year again!
Stop on by to pick up some of our freshly picked, Riveredge grown asparagus right from our gift shop! It's the perfect snack to compliment this year's beautiful (yet sometimes chilly) Wisconsin spring.

Onion time!!

It's been quite wet the whole month of April, but today was our first attempt at getting these guys in the ground. Things are still very wet, so we are being a bit selective as to where in the field the onions are going to be planted while, at the same time, being aware of our three year crop rotation so we don't put too much strain on the soil.

Wish these little onions luck!
