Tomatoes are still ripening, and we have some Slow Cooker Tomato boxes available. There is just over 9 lbs of smaller tomatoes in a box. We have done a number of batches up, and Vicky says we have enough! =)

The Slow Cooker process is easy. Rinse and trim off any spot you don't like on the tomatoes. Cut twice to quarter them. We leave the skins on. Blend in a blender or food processor dump in the crock pot on low. We leave the lid on but turned a little so excess water can cook off. add spices, onions, peppers, etc Cook on low until it thickens to your desired consistency. This could be 8 - 10 hrs.

We like the sauce chunky. If you want it smoother, after about 4 hours or so just run it through the blender again. You can also add some tomato paste if you want to.

Put some in the fridge to use in the near future. Or can some, or let it cool and freeze.

All of these tomatoes are grown here on our farm and are Chemical Free. Never sprayed with any chemicals. =)

You know you made the big time when you get your own personal Jelly flavor =) We are looking forward to trying some later today. It is great having friends that are so creative and talented.

After strolling through Gordon's Produce and picking some of their wildflowers I devised a plan for a new jelly!

Introducing Steve's Bee Food Jelly. A blend of dandelion, clover and queen Anne's lace that creates a bright citrusy honey flavor.

Steve's Bee Food jelly will be stocked at their farmstand this afternoon!

I have a limited run of bread today and attendance at Sault Ste Marie Farmers' Market is questionable due to rain. Stay tuned for updates.

New - Canteloupe Jelly and Concord Grape Jelly made from our Canteloupe and Grapes. Kelley at The Curious Homestead used our fruit to make some excellent jellies. We have a few jars of each at the farmstand for sale. We had never heard of Canteloupe Jelly, but it is very good. Stop by and get some =)

Well the Frost has arrived! We 8thare out of Beans but do have some Zucchini and Cucumbers that we got picked before the frost. Get them fast if you are looking to stock up.

Tomatoes, Canteloupe and some Peppers are still going under plastic. We are cleaning up more Winter Squash and Pumpkins to put out this weekend. The local supply of these is low this year with the lack of rain.

Beets are doing good =)
