All pumpkins priced at $3, $4, $5 and $7 now reduced to $2 each. Those priced at $1 are now 25 cents each.

The temperatures have turned downward. There was a solid frost this morning. Time to finish up those Autumn displays!

The final picking of pumpkins has been done at Border Country. Everything available is under the pavilion, including a nice number of Greenies mixed in. Payment instructions are on-site and include a Venmo QR. Open during daylight hours, 7 days/week. 3401 Seymour, Soo. Greenies, anything half green or more, is half off the staked price.

The grandkids’ pumpkin project has yielded a few fruits this year and the decision was made to market them here at the berry field pavilion. So if any of you would like to get your pumpkin direct from a farm without it being a half-day long event, then perhaps this is for you.

We’ve done the picking. The ‘kins are grouped by size and prices displayed. Payment options are posted, including a Venmo QR code. (If you use the QR, I’d be interested in hearing if it worked well or not; may incorporate it into the blueberry harvest next year). I’ll note up front these are not the picture perfectly shaped fruits you find in some places; guess I haven’t figured out that detail yet.

For anyone unfamiliar with the berry farm, the location is 3401 S. Seymour Rd. Within a half mile of the Sault.

These are the two little ladies left in the litter. Sis and three brothers were placed yesterday and today. Would like to see them go together, as it would make their adjustment to new surroundings easier; but not a deal breaker. They received first shot and were dewormed last Thursday (28th). No fee. A few more pics of the kittens available; one or two on the doc’s exam table. They’ve had their first vaccs; all were Vet-examined and pronounced healthy. All have been using the litter pan for the last month. They are on kitten kibble and whole milk and water; rarely nurse anymore. Born the last day or two of June. Healthy and happy with lots of handling by people. Text or call 906-748-2048

During the harvest many of you saw and enjoyed the two cats at the farm. And you noticed that Cuppie appeared to be nursing a litter. She has been and they will be ready for new addresses soon. They have a vet visit and first vaccs scheduled for this Thursday, the 28th. Genders still being determined. After that they are available for a small fee of $35 to cover the vet exam and vaccs. Just a quick fyi, for anyone who's interested. I've been getting more than the usual number of questions this year about the harvest being shorter or ending sooner than in past years. You're not wrong. In a typical year the picking would go on for about 4 weeks, often a few days more. It was a full week shorter this year. Two of the blueberry varieties in the field are mid-late or late season varieties and normally are ripening as the earlier varieties are waning. This year all of the varieties ripened together. I don't know the reason for that. I have learned that every year is unique! Each year there is something different than every other year. Always something new to learn or try to understand. Keeps me from getting bored.😊

The 2025 blueberry harvest at Border Country Berries has drawn to a close; something I always have mixed feelings about, but that’s a different topic. I am grateful for all that was provided this year. I want to take a moment to thank everyone who came out to participate in the harvest, as well as purchase pre-picked; long-timers and first timers. You are all appreciated and your patronage is valued. I do not take for granted the time that you spend pulling berries off the bushes. I am always hopeful that it is an enjoyable experience. I surely enjoy seeing so many of you take part! Everyone have a fantastic late summer and safe seasons to come! I hope we can do it all over again in 2026!
