I joke that some days it feels like we’re running an insect sanctuary and a flower farm. When I noticed this bee drenched and weather beaten after a ferocious downpour, I felt great about our decision not to spray pesticides on our flowers.

I checked on her later and she’d gone back to important 🐝 business.

We’re back at Midtown Community Market tonight with bouquets and petite posies that are bringing late summer vibes! The posies are perfect for back to school gifts - optionally add a Thank You tag for a sweet touch. They’ll even fit in your cup holder!

Your favorite color palette responses have favored really colorful or more moody… so we leaned into both this week! If you missed our anonymous poll find it in our bio and in our pinned post.

This sunflower harvest went to our talented friend Chrissy at Helena Hills Farm in Hardeeville, who is busy drying them to use in her on-farm workshops and beautiful wreaths and other creations. We love to be a part of such an inspiring community of flower farmers in the Southeast and beyond.

Help us decide what to grow for next season! 🌸

In just a few weeks we'll sow thousands of seeds for next year's spring and summer bouquets. We plant over half our flowers in the fall to develop strong roots over winter and be able to thrive in this crazy heat and humidity.

Tell us what will make you happiest! Which blooms and color palettes make your flower loving heart flutter? Click the link in the comments to share your input.

A lot of flowers must be tossed (usually right in the field) when harvesting for bouquets and wholesale orders because they don’t make the cut - the stem isn’t quite long enough or straight enough, the bloom has blemishes or is past the harvest window for the longest vase life. We sometimes bring a ‘misfits’ bucket to save the castoffs for ourselves. This week’s misfit arrangement has all the colors and all the things.

Flower farming 101: Sowing the right bouquet ingredients at the right time so they marry together beautifully... for an entire season. Not for the faint of heart! We've had moments of doubt about so many things, like, did we sow enough zinnias? And then, how many zinnias is too many zinnias?

We hope "more is more" is the right answer... because we planted 297 more zinnias this month! We're excited for a more saturated and moodier palette for late fall - think cranberry, purple, orange, honey, bronze.

Here are some of our favorites showing off this week. You need these on your table!

Zinnias are long lasting and sturdy but they don’t like cold storage so they’re not easy to source… unless you plant them in your garden or have a flower farm near you. We’re here when you need your zinnia fix or want to send someone something cheerful and summery!
