Meet Salvador Orozco Gomez, Agave Field Supervisor at Destiladora Juanacatlán. For the past three years, Salvador has helped oversee the care and harvest of agave, making sure each plant is harvested at the right time and arrives at the distillery in the best possible condition.

His work, along with the efforts of so many others in the fields, helps ensure the quality and character found in every sip of Carreta de Oro.

Meet Gloria Velázquez, a biologist on the field team at Destiladora Juanacatlán. For more than four years, she has helped care for the agave that will eventually become Carreta de Oro.

Her approach is simple: prioritize natural solutions whenever possible.

From homemade foliar treatments to natural repellents, the goal is to support the agave without relying on chemical shortcuts. It's a philosophy rooted in patience, observation, and respect for the plant.

By the time an agave is harvested, years of care have already gone into it.

Because great tequila doesn't begin in the bottle.

For a jimador, it begins years earlier.

A Blue Weber agave plant spends 6 to 8 years growing in the fields of Jalisco before it's ready to harvest. When that time comes, a jimador carefully removes every leaf by hand, revealing the heart of the plant: the piña.

It's skilled work that can't be rushed.
