3 Ingredient gluten free Air Fryer Bagels
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour (or use gluten-free all-purpose flour for the GF version)
2 teaspoons baking powder (optional, for extra rise and fluffiness)
¼ teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup plain Greek yogurt (thick, strained)
1 large egg, lightly beaten (for egg wash)
Optional toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir to distribute evenly. Add the Greek yogurt and mix with a sturdy spatula or your hands until a shaggy, slightly sticky dough forms.
Knead and Shape
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead gently for 2-3 minutes until smooth and elastic. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each piece into a 6-inch rope, then shape into a circle by pinching the ends together.
Add the Egg Wash & Toppings
Place the shaped bagels on a parchment-lined tray. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a shiny finish. Sprinkle generously with your chosen toppings: everything bagel seasoning, sesame seeds, or poppy seeds.
Air Fry the Bagels
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Spray the basket lightly with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the bagels in the basket in a single layer, leaving space between them for expansion. Air fry for 10 minutes, checking at 8 minutes to ensure they don’t over-brown.
Cool and Serve
Once golden and puffed, transfer the bagels to a wire rack to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with cream cheese, butter, or your favorite spread.
Tip: For gluten-free bagels, substitute the flour with gluten-free all-purpose flour and add 1 whisked egg white to help bind the dough.
