A day in the life.
Today I worked on business plan financials for the farm purchase after M got on the bus for the last day of 1st grade. I'm so excited for her to be home from school and for her 4-H projects. She's got Serama bantam chicks hatching right now.

The boys and I did chores and handled the baby pigeons to tame them. We've got 7 squabsso far, which is a baby pigeon before it feathers out. We raise Old German Owls and Modena, both fancy breeds of pigeons.

Stopped to smell the latest iris bloom. I've got almost as many iris varieties as dahlias, but not the numbers.

This one is: "Shocking Secret" by Thomas Johnson, 2022. TB 37"

Amazingly, both boys napped at the same time so I got my entire dahlia hybridizing patch planted. Next up is a 1,000 plant field for cut flower dahlias (U Pick, anyone?) and ANOTHER dahlia bed of about 500-600 for tuber sales. I've already planned my seedlings from my waterlily dahlia projects, too.

Now, its time for non-farm work. And housekeeping. And YAY for the longest days of the year.

Also, only one tick today. There were at least 2 spiders on me while planting, too. I'd rather have the spiders.

My FIL supplied me with a loaner, thankfully. This is going to be all dahlias, as well as this much more behind where I'm standing next to the greenhouses.
