We drove 3.5 hours (1 mile from the Massachusetts border) to the CCNY Mini Dairy Goat Show yesterday and came home with some rosettes! 🤎
Diamond Ray's Farm Pollyanna - 5 year old 3F - was Reserve Grand Champion under judge Nathan Funk. Grand went to Joanna's "Cherry" and what a nice doe to be standing second to!
Markham's NA Velaris - dry yearling - was also Reserve Grand Champion under judge Nathan Funk! This is Polly's yearling daughter by Frogtown Cedars MB Noir Absolu *B and I am so excited to freshen her in the spring. The judge commended her length, which is something I was wanting to see improved over her dam.
Markham's NA Vandana - 3-6 months - 3rd place in a pretty large class of doelings in both rings! Polly's 3 month old daughter by Frogtown Cedars MB Noir Absolu *B.
Highlight of my day, the aged doe class in ring 2 with Joanna and Ebony (who is paternal granddam to my Vela and Vandana). The judge was VERY THOROUGH and the suspense was killing me as he measured with his hands from hips to pins and thurl to thurl on both does! Polly took first in ring 2, after Ebony took first in ring 1. Two well matched does that have combined in the making of Vela and Vandana! Now we have Polly's daughter Vela and Ebony's daughter Beauté in the same age classes, to continue showing together and carry on the fun!
