Busy like little bees in a bee-hive!
Garlic is growing nicely, Romanian Red scapes have been harvested and even sold some to a local eating establishment you may have heard of??? "Marks on the Channel"... Great place to eat, watch the river and check out some pickled garlic scapes!
German Reds are just starting to scape, so looks like my harvest may be staggered alittle this year (we'll see if that's good or bad!) and the silver whites are looking great!
Made up a fresh batch of Garlic Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil last night due to some demand for the yummy stuff, so if you've been waiting around trying to decide, now is a good time to let me know you'd LOVE to have your own bottle!

I bet you have all been wondering "What's going on with the Gourmet Garlic Garden these days?"... Right?
Well, let me tell you, we have been super busy. The weather has been perfect with rain, then warm, then s'more rain, then s'more warmer weather... Happy Happy Garlic, that's for sure. AND the new variety "Romanian Red" is super healthy looking!
Also, have done my first batch of Garlic Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil in an FDA approved/Health inspected kitchen... opening doors to the next step; expanding to offering the yummy yummy garlic infused olive oil in a high-class gift shop or family café near you soon... well, that is if you live in Scappoose, Warren or St. Helens!

With New Years just around the corner, are you looking for a yummy New Year's Eve treat? How about some baguette bread cut into bite sized pieces, so you can dip in some AWESOME and almost-world-famous Garlic Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Excellent with a little Balsamic splashed in.

Well, it is time to get serious about gifting.
I know the perfect gift for the hard-to-buy-for person, the cook, the one who LOVES to entertain, is just discovering the many wonderful way to use EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), and incorporate the wondrous aroma, taste and benefits of garlic... ALL AT ONCE... Yep, some Almost World Famous Gourmet Garlic Garden Garlic Infused EVOO!!!.. and I even know where you can get some - LOCAL!!!

OK, y'all c'mon down to St. Fredric's Fall Festival at the church parking lot in St. Helens on South 17th... we'll be serving up samples of the nearly-world-famous garlic infused extra virgin olive oil, and perhaps you'll take a fancy to one of the really nice garlic braids!!!

WHEW - got the garlic field plowed and tilled before the rain started... even though it came in early. Even got NEXT year's spot plowed, so we can do a cover crop, or at least get a jump on the weeds!

Ok, #1, a big THANK YOU, to all my facebook friends that stopped by, chatted, and/or picked up a little something from the booth!!!
#2 someone asked if there was an easier way to peel garlic. Well, I heard about shaking the cloves between two metal bowls - someone saw on U-Tube, and IT WORKS!!! The cloves that haven't popped completely out of their 'shell' are loosened and easy to pop!
Sauerkraut festival (although it got 3-4 downpours in the afternoon) was a wonderful time!!!

OK, my Scappoose Garlic-loving friends, the Gourmet Garlic Garden will have a booth at the Sauerkraut Festival!!! Yep. Lots of cured lovely raw garlic, garlic braids and the "almost world famous" gourmet garlic infused extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) at your door!
