Frith Farm

Frith Farm We've been at it since 2010. https://linktr.ee/frithfarm Our Mission is to build soil, biodiversity, and community through the growing of wholesome food.

We are a small organic farm on 14 acres in Scarborough, Maine, offering organic vegetables, fruit, herbs, flowers, nursery plants, educational workshops, and community events. Toward this end, we base our practices on the following principles:

Biomimicry – farm practices are modeled after the cyclic and resilient examples set by nature

Chemical-Free – synthetic fertilizers and chemicals

are strictly avoided in favor of biological and cultural methods

Community – all sales are local, and visitors are encouraged to the farm and on the planned walking trail through our woods

Organic Matter – carbon is cherished as the foundation of healthy soil

Respect – farm animals are treated humanely and allowed to exhibit their species’ natural character

Transparency – openness and honesty surround all farming practices, and visitors are welcome on the farm at any time

Quality – freshness, taste, and nutrition are our top priorities and are not compromised in the name of volume or profit

First few weeks on the farm:
1. Flail mowing the overwintered cover crop (aka fall and winters fort building grounds for the kiddos)
2. Elena taking on the giant task of digging and potting up perennials for our annual plant sale (opening soon!!)
3. First bed prepping of the year for direct seeded crops
4. Baby Adler watching us prune back perennials while our kitty, Skunk, is on baby watch
5. James checking things off his maintenance list (even after hours during a gorgeous sunset)
6. Hanging out in awe of said gorgeous sunset
7. Classic April snow showers to remind us how hardcore farming in Maine is and how ready for Spring we truly are
8. Lone Crocus poking up through the garlic to remind us of the beauty all around, even in places we least expect it
