Red Boot Farm Red Boot Farm is a small farm located on 16 and a half acres in Scarborough, Maine, located just 10 minutes south of Portland.

We grow and raise mixed vegetables, poultry, eggs, and dairy. Our seasonal farm store is open during the growing season.

We just stocked the market fridge with 50 fresh whole chickens, available today (8/2) and tomorrow (8/3). We raise a breed called Freedom Rangers, which takes a bit longer to get to market weight than the Cornish X birds that all the commercial farms raise.

We think that extra time and cost is totally worth it for a tastier, more balanced, and more nutritious final product. It’s a pleasure to raise birds on pasture that actually forage, eat grass and clover, and scratch for bugs. Living like chickens are supposed to live, all while fertilizing the land and nourishing our community that we love so dearly.
