For , here are some video clips of our fields and greenhouse in early May, including the birds sounds that can be heard all around the farm. In appreciation of all the things that this beautiful environment provides us, Justine shared the following words in our CSA email this week:
“Each year, I marvel at what the earth generously provides throughout the growing period - even when the temperatures fluctuate from the upper 30s to the low 90s in barely a week! I appreciate knowing that vegetables have their special time for maturity – some only one time per season (i.e. Strawberries and Melons) while others, started in the greenhouse are then transplanted weekly into the field (i.e. lettuce and herbs).
When the final CSA box is packed in late October, I hope that you will also take pleasure in the seasonality, the diversity and the gifts that emerge from the well-tended and stewarded earth here at Denison Farm.”
