Guyanese salara is a traditional snack or pastry that originates from Guyana, a country in South America. It is a sweet, spiced bread that typically features a filling of coconut and sugar, flavored with spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon. The dough is usually rolled up with the filling inside, similar to a cinnamon roll, and then baked until golden brown. Salara is commonly enjoyed as a snack or breakfast item and is often served with tea or coffee.

This treat is part of Guyana’s diverse culinary heritage, which blends influences from African, Indian, and Indigenous cultures. Salara is a popular item in both Guyanese homes and bakeries.
