Meanwhile, we’ve got the fire pit going with a whole mess of hot coals. So if your house is without power and supper ain’t happenin’, grab your hot dogs, burgers, steak, sausage—or whatever critter you planned on eatin’—and come on down. A pretty big change is gonna happen here on the farm—something that’s needed to happen for a LONG time, but something we can not do on our own. Most folks don’t realize there’s a whole other world up the hill beyond those trees. Getting there is interesting on a good day. Come winter, it turns into one big “hold my beer and watch this sh*t” moment from the first snowflake till spring thaw. 😂

Before we can get this project rolling, a few trees had to come down—and they were WAY beyond my skill level and comfort zone.
An unplanned 8 am Saturday text to my cuzzin, tell him what kind of hillbilly shenanigans we’re getting into, and his response was basically:

“Say less.” He loaded up and didn’t even hesitate. ❤️

We are incredibly blessed to have some damn good people in our corner—the kind you can call anytime & don’t ask what’s in it for them. They just show up. Sometimes you don’t realize how lucky you are until you look around and see who’s standing beside you.

We’re trying something a little different at Hillbilly Heaven! 👀 Meat has always been priced, but we’re testing out these little barcode + price stickers to see if they make our self-checkout a little easier. Instead of paying for a UPC for each cut 💸💸💸💸💸

Instead of searching through the register trying to find the right cut of meat, you can scan the barcode and the item pops right up. You’ll still enter the price shown on the sticker, but hopefully this takes some of the hunting and pecking out of checkout. 😂 We’re starting with the chicken before we tackle more.

WELL… 2 MINUTES CHANGED EVERYTHING 😂For a slick little marketing move — totally intentional, obviously — we left a batch of cookies & brownies in the oven about 2 minutes longer than usual.They’re still absolutely delicious. They’re just not our normal soft, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

So instead of pretending otherwise…WE MADE ’EM DUNKERS. 🤠🥛A little firmer.
Perfect for dunking in cold milk or hot coffee.
And only $1 each. Same homemade goodness — just with a little more backbone. 😂

We know, we know… it’s still August. But apparently nobody told the mums because they done showed up lookin’ all pretty and fall-ish. 🌼And if the mums are here, you know what ain’t far behind…🎃 PUMPKINS. LOTS. OF. PUMPKINS. 🎃

Pretty soon this place is gonna look like fall threw up all over the front yard and quite frankly, we’re here for it. 😂🌼 Mums are $12 each or 2 for $20 Summer ain’t been officially evicted yet… but we did give fall a key. 🍂
