Always gotta save the prettiest, cleanest eggs for my Thursday regular!

It’s nice not having to rely on my egg stand, given it’s been so hot on and off and I don’t want to forget to replace ice packs and waste eggs, so I haven’t been filling it.

Hopefully my younger hens start to lay more consistently so I have a nice selection of color come Fall & into the cold months.

Teenager update!

I REALLY hope that black pullet 🤞🏼 lays a green egg as pretty as the one it hatched out of! I can deal with the smaller one being a rooster, if I still get one olive egg 😬

Given that it’s the end of August, we’ll see if I get an egg by the end of the year or not.

Baby goose update..

Picture is from yesterday, but it’s feet are almost as big as its parents, feathers are starting to grow in, wings are filling out and it’s a big wobbly mess 😂

Blood sample is still on its way to MI or at least just waiting in the queue to be tested for a result.. not rushing you Pullidex but I’m on the edge of my seat 😂

Larry here wants his feathered friends to remain safe, just as much as I do, and I’d love to have the crows around more often and not just at random when they spy an intruder (a.k.a relentless hawks)

We have baby Robins again 🥹

I was surprised when I started seeing her hanging out in the nest this far into Summer, and was even more surprised when I noticed some babies.

Though I don’t know anything about laying patterns for wild birds, I still didn’t think I’d see more babies this far into the year.

I love seeing their little faces peeking out at me when I’m observing them.. they’re so dang cute!

Cute video of Wh**ey having a blast in the water bowl, to go along with my previous post. I make exceptions for her shenanigans because she’s a special needs duck.

She can and will get in the pools, but as of lately she’s discovered that this is a much more convenient way to bathe 😂
