🩷 It's a girl 🩷
On Friday, 05JUN2026, Gisella quickly delivered after a long 355 days of gestation. A light colored cria weighing 17.5lbs. Her legs are so long and she quickly hit all her milestones over the weekend. The Aunties were ready for inspection as well. Mom and baby are doing great. Big thanks to the Dad the one and only Renaissance Man at Silkie's Farm! We are in love with this gal 😍🦙💕

Tell us you're 347 days pregnant without telling us you're 347 days pregnant....Gisella the alpaca will demonstrate. Hogging the big hay feeder! All the other girls with the exception of Twinkle and sneaky Aurora had to make do with the little feeder. Munch munch munch. Turn the volume up to hear all the cute noises. 🦙🌱🔊

Happy 1st Birthday to Miss Godiva! 🎉🎂🦙🎉🎂 She's a curious and independent little thing. She has, also, retained the same fluffy ears of her family tree. Her deep chocolate color is so gorgeous as she keeps on growing as a lovely part of our herd.

Last one for 2026! The Queen, herself, Twinkle!
She is our OG and has slowed down a lot lately. At almost 20 years old she can do whatever she pleases. The babies still run to her for comfort and the mamas still look at her for support. Our alpaca journey wouldn't have been the same without her. Keep on judging everything with your side eye Twinks! 😉 ✨

✂️🦙 Before & After Shearing 🦙✂️

Watching how an alpaca greet each other after being sheared is always interesting. When a new alpaca comes back, all the alpaca gather around the freshly sheared one. It's like they are checking out the new do and either approving or humming out laughter at how skinny they look and other inside alpaca jokes. Lots of tail sniffing to confirm that it is the same alpaca you've been hanging with the past year.

Our annual shearing process takes place in late April, providing relief for the alpacas during the warm summer months. This "harvest" is a significant event, yielding a substantial bounty. We appreciate the valuable resources provided by our alpacas. We look forward to receiving the processed fiber from the mill. 💕🧶🧣💕

These gals were born in 2023 on our farm and have grown up together! Can't believe they are almost 3!

We joked that Aurora was the ballerina 🩰 and Hazy Dazy was the linebacker 🏈 when they were born. Being a week apart in age but miles apart in terms of body type. Their fleeces this year will make gorgeous yarn! 💕🧶🦙
