Hello All!

It’s been awhile since I posted but I wanted to let you know that our first in person event is coming up next weekend!

May 20th and 21st come find us at in Scio, OR.

I am only planning on attending three fiber festivals this year so if you want to chat in person and squish our flocks wool this is one of your three chances.

Hope to see some of you next weekend!

While, I mentioned in my new year’s post that the house was finished I wanted to post a final picture and officially announced that it is done!

There are a few details left such as the pump house needing paint but it has been such a relief to have this almost 2 year long project done.

Now this isn’t the last post related to the house as there is a special place in the house that I will be talking about more later this year. So stay tuned for that!

Happy New Year!

2022 was a challenging year for us on the farm but it was also filled with milestones and joy.
So here are a few highlights of 2022:
🔸We welcomed a new member to our family right after a loss.
🔸We reached 1,000 followers on Instagram!
🔸Our farm had its 15th birthday of being Covered Bridge Farm
🔸The farmhouse build was completed!

With the challenges we faced during 2022 a lot of things related to the farm have fallen off track. The lack of a house for over a year really started to drain all of us and the lack of motivation has been real! With the house completed we are hoping to start feeling a sense of normalcy again.

So, while I am not big on resolutions here are some thoughts and hopes for 2023!

Since so many things have fallen off track I am hoping 2023 will be a year of recovery and regaining our footing. I am hoping to begin to bring back elements of the farm that have fallen to the wayside, rebuild things that I had just begun to introduce pre house build, and adding new things I have been dreaming about. Now that’s a lot to put into a year so I realistically realize these are goals for both 2023 and 2024 but I am excited to see what we can start this year!

Thank you to all of you who have stuck with us through all the highs and lows. Your support to appreciated more than you could ever realize!

Here’s to 2023! 🥂

🚧 Construction Update 🚧

We are so close to the house being completed! Things should wrapped up the beginning of December.

Since my last update the exterior has be painted, gutters installed, cement poured in front of the garage and the new pump house has been started. Inside the floor has been installed, cabinets are in place, and the wood stove and part of our appliances have been delivered.

Today our counter tops are being installed, which I cannot wait to see how they look.

I haven’t had a chance to get interior pictures since it gets dark earlier now but hopefully I can get some to share soon.

It’s just 4 days until kicks off this year! You’ve heard me say it before and I know I’ll say it again but I love wovember.

If you are new to wovember it is a month long celebration and a time to advocate for wool. As a shepherd this of course is very near and dear to my heart. However, I truly just have so much fun with the prompts and seeing what everyone shares during this time.

If you would like to join in and challenge yourself to a month of celebrating wool the above picture has the daily prompts and hashtags. A big shoutout to for putting together the prompts again this year.

A few of our boys are looking to join new flocks.

This boy is a 2 year old purebred Horned Dorset. He was born June 2020 and is a twin. He is not registered. I have had two beautiful lamb crops out of him.

He has a beautiful fleece, however, it is not as dense as I would like. His primary bloodlines are Nichols, Salisbury and Fine Family.

I also currently have a mature NC Romney ram available and a couple white Romney ram lambs.

If you would like to know more about this guy or any of our other available rams please message or email me [email protected]

Amidst all the hustle and bustle of Oregon Flock and Fiber last weekend we were reunited with a member of our farm who we thought we would never see again.
Mr Kitty aka Socks showed up Saturday night and we couldn’t be more excited!

We knew when preparations for the building site of the farmhouse began that we were at a risk of him running away. If you are familiar with cat behavior you’ll know cats are very sensitive to change. Not only did we completely demolish the old house but the barn, which was Mr Kitty’s domain, became a storage unit. We always intended to catch him but as he kept coming back we let down our guard.

During the summer of 2021 he became more and more scarce. At first it was hard to tell if this was one of his extended summer hunting trips but it became clear by the end of the summer he was missing. In October of 2021 he showed up for a week before completely disappearing. He was seen once in December and then never seen again.

We are currently working with Mr Kitty to hopefully reestablish us as his home. Before long we hope he will be curled up on his haystack, wandering among his sheep and leading us to new lambs in the field.
