It’s a start!

Continuous wheat → cover crop. Thanks to all the residue - from last year’s corn to this year’s wheat - the soil’s now a giant sponge, ready to soak up every drop of precipitation when El Niño finally decides to arrive.

Planting season puts months of planning into motion 🌽

Every pass reflects decisions made long before the planter rolls. Getting those early steps right builds consistency as the crop gets established.

Corn planting is getting underway… just not at full speed yet.

We got one field planted yesterday, but overall conditions are still too dry to really get after it. Soil moisture just isn’t where it needs to be across most acres.

Early planting can help extend the growing season, but only if the conditions are right. Right now, it’s a waiting game: watching the forecast, checking fields, and being ready when things line up.

In the meantime, we're remembering scenes like this from last season ... and praying we’ll be back at it soon.

Around here, there’s no real start or stop to the week, but we’ll always make time for K-State.

A large portion of the land we farm is leased from families and landowners who trust us to manage their acres carefully. Our focus is on producing strong crops while maintaining the long-term health of the land.

Every region brings its own challenges.

In parts of Northeast Texas, feral hogs can cause significant damage to newly planted fields. Their rooting behavior can disturb soil structure and destroy rows before crops even emerge.

Managing invasive species is part of protecting both the crop and the land.

Most people associate our operation with Western Kansas, but part of the farm is located about 600 miles away in Northeast Texas.

Working across two regions means the growing season doesn’t always look the same in both places. Weather patterns and field conditions can tell very different stories depending on the location.

Both farms operate as part of the same system.
