What If We Let Celosia Be the Star?

Celosia has always been one of our favorite filler flowers at Knobstone Flower Farm. Its incredible texture, movement, and color can make just about any bouquet more interesting.

But what happens when we stop treating it like the supporting cast and let celosia take center stage?
This arrangement, tucked into one of our colorful Blenko hand-blown glass water bottles, might look like a really bad hair day...or maybe it's just an amazing mess of nature working perfectly together!

Either way, we love it!

That's part of the fun of arranging farm-fresh flowers. They don't always have to be perfectly symmetrical or carefully planned. Sometimes you just let the flowers do what they want—and see what happens.

Wild. Colorful. A little unruly. Completely unique.

Sounds a lot like nature to us.

Thank you to everyone who shared and our Wedding Open House this past Sunday. We are especially grateful for all the new followers, over a hundred this past week!

We took time yesterday to relax before jumping back into the next two months of u-pick flowers, photography reservations, group visits, more open houses and scheduled weddings.

Lisa, Peyton, and I enjoyed a pleasant evening cart ride with our pups! We made a stop back at the mailbox to find some of next year's flower seeds had arrived. These seeds will be used to support our plans to keep expanding and growing your experiences at Knobstone Flower Farm and The Venue at Knobstone!

We asked for your help to share the word about The Wedding Open House Series starting this Sunday, August 23rd and you responded beyond our wildest dreams! Your support really means a lot to us and helps validate our seven years of work and investment in building The Venue at Knobstone, home of Knobstone Flower Farm. Over the years, so many of you have supported Knobstone Flower Farm, and now we’re excited to continue growing The Venue at Knobstone as a special place for our community to gather, celebrate, and make memories.

Our first Wedding Open House is this Sunday, August 23rd, from 1:00–4:00 PM, and one of the easiest ways you can help us is simply by sharing this post with your friends and family.

LATE SUMMER PLANTING FOR FALL COLORS!

We planted some interesting mixes of sunflowers, cosmos, buckwheat, marigolds, and zinnias today for early October blooms! The timing was perfect with the rain showers.

Now comes the hard part, patiently waiting for next 45 to 50 days until these plots bloom!

No worries, there's alway flowers blooming during the summer! These photos were taken this afternoon of sunflowers blooming on the flower farm today!
