Harvest is in its final stretch, and our winemaker Jef and his team are in the cellar right now working this year's last fruit. While they're out there, we're pouring something already resting nicely, our 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon, a limited production release grown at 5,200 feet in Pearce, Arizona.

The desert looks like it holds nothing. Ours proved otherwise. Bold and structured, built from vines that had to fight for every drop of water this land gave up. Pour a glass while the rest of this year's harvest finishes up. Cheers!

Happy National Cabernet Sauvignon day!

Night Edition: Harvesting the Malbec Under a Canopy of Stars
Where the day footage ended, the night footage began. The long, golden shadows of the high desert turned into a deep, velvety dark. While you saw the energetic start of the harvest in our last post, the real magic happens when the sun goes down.
The night air in Pierce was completely still. No dust storms, no rushing rain, just steady hands working under headlamps and work lights. For the first time in weeks, the weather gave us room to breathe. No frantically tracking storm radar, just the quiet rhythm of the night harvest under a starry sky. By 2 AM, led seamlessly by our vineyard manager Moisés, our crew of fifteen tucked 23 brimming bins safely into the cellar.
Great wine isn't just about the grape, it's about the people who show up, the quiet nights when everything aligns, and the patience it takes to bring a harvest home. Which atmosphere speaks to you more, the golden desert daylight or the quiet magic of the harvest at night? Let us know below!

The night air in Pierce was completely still, no dust storms, no rushing rain, just the quiet rhythm of the harvest under a golden desert sky.
At 6 PM on Wednesday, our crew of fifteen met in the rows to bring in this season’s Malbec. For the first time in weeks, the weather gave us room to breathe. No frantically tracking storm radar or racing against a sudden shift in wind, just steady hands working long into the quiet hours of the high desert.
By 2 AM, led seamlessly by our vineyard manager Moisés, we tucked 23 brimming bins safely into the cellar under a canopy of stars.

On Wine Tip Wednesday, Jef answers, what is a fortified wine?

Simple answer, it's a wine with a bit of added alcohol, usually brandy. Sometimes that brandy comes from an outside source. Sometimes it's distilled from the same fermentation and added back in.

Most fortified wines lean sweet, think port or dessert wine, the kind that pairs beautifully with a slice of chocolate cake. But some, ours included, also hold their own next to savory food. Not what most people expect from a fortified wine. Worth trying for yourself. Cheers!

Phoenix and Tucson, we see you sweating. While the Valley bakes at an average high near 105°F and Tucson isn't far behind at 98°F, our Willcox tasting room sits a solid 13 and 7 degrees cooler. Come trade the pavement for the high desert and cool off in the charming little town of Willcox, a quaint, light-filled tasting room built from reclaimed wood and vintage materials, the same design excellence that's earned Aridus recognition from the International Interior Design Association. Pour yourself a glass, soak in the space, and let the elevation do what the AC alone can't. See you soon at Aridus Willcox.

Precision, patience, and a whole lot of desert mud.

Harvest in Pearce usually means picking between 10PM-3:00AM to beat the scorching Arizona heat. But this year, unpredictable monsoon storms turned our routine upside down. Heavy rains threatened to trap our crews and sink tractor tires in deep mud. Instead of waiting for midnight, we watched the radar, eyed the soil, and made our move last night at 5:00 PM.

We raced into the vineyard and brought in our Syrah right between the afternoon heat and the incoming storms. Just hours after the last bin was loaded, the winds kicked up and the sky poured. It was fast, intense, and a complete success. Dodging monsoons to get this pristine fruit into the cellar makes every muddy boot worth it! Cheers to our incredible vineyard team!

Meet Oasis, the newest white blend from winemaker Jef Stebben.
Built from 17 lots across multiple vintages, Oasis leads with Malvasia Bianca and Viognier, with Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat of Alexandria playing supporting roles. Don't let the aromatics fool you, this white carries more weight and structure than you'd expect, with enough depth to hold its own at the table.
Pour it lightly chilled. Poolside, at the grill, wherever the evening takes you.
Wine Club members: Oasis will be one of the stars at tonight's Member Mixer in Old Town Scottsdale.
