It's getting hot, which means it's time to put the shade cloth on the high tunnel. Our pepper high tunnel doesn't have any fans, so we keep the sides up and the door open to let the wind in all the time. Having the shade cloth on top helps to knock the high temperatures down a little and we're hoping it also reduces sun scald as the peppers grow.

The farm stand is open today until 7pm with some new goodies: grab some microgreens and sugar snap peas for your Memorial Day festivities. We also have kale, radishes, dill, cilantro, sourdough, shortbread, granola, jellies, and pickled goods.

Learn to can a seasonal jelly and jam! This hands-on outdoor workshop will take place at Nealand Farm in Scottsville. You'll make and take home a jar of jelly and a jar of jam along with the know-how to keep canning on your own.

Summer hours at the Nealand Farm Stand start today! Tuesdays and Fridays 4pm-7pm and Sundays 9am-7pm. Maybe we'll catch you on your way home from work. Today, we've got eggs, radishes, kale, shortbread, chocolate chip walnut cookies, biscotti, granola, jellies, and pickles.

Get some local lovin'! The farm stand will be open tomorrow for Valentine's Day from 9am-4pm. You'll find Happy Humblestead's delicious sourdough loaves, chocolate chip cookies, and apple cinnamon bread, as well as all kinds of jellies (including two new flavors), pickles, and salsa.
