After 3 years of raising pigs, we have learned a lot of do’s and dont’s. We didn’t have anyone giving us advice or guidance, we simply had to mess up, take the loss, and pick up and try again. After a lot of research, we have decided to raise our pigs on pasture due to the major health benefits of doing so. It’s going to take longer to get them to slaughter size but I know it will be worth it. We absolutely can not eat pork from the store and it’s because we are well aware of the difference in taste, appearance, and quality.

Raising pigs on pasture respects the animal, the environment, and produces a healthier meat for consumers. See what the benefits are of raising pigs this way!

It’s pig time again! We have a whole and a half available (or 3 half’s). We will take these pigs when they are around 280lbs which should give around 160lbs for take home for a whole. They will be going to slaughter in late January/early February. These are our pigs from last year just to give an idea. Get in on it now so we can secure the right amount of pigs for slaughter.

Pasture raised chicken eggs. $3/dozen. Our chickens are raised completely on pasture with supplemental feed that comes from the local Amish feed mill.

Fun Fact: in order for an egg to be labeled as pasture raised, each laying hen must be provided with 108 sq ft of pasture to forage on. Our chickens get to enjoy that life and the eggs tell it all!!!

We currently have around 5 dozen each week available until our young pullets start laying.
