Eddie was very sad that his race did not fill at the Genesee Valley Hunt Race Meet this year. He has been doing his gallop sets, treadmill hikes and he was all prepared 🏋🏻Now he is super fit and nowhere to go. These memories from a few years ago are fun, but he wants to run and jump! 🏇 Eagerly awaiting the GVH 2027 Race Meet.

Gillian helps so many of our horses on a regular basis as the Cornell Equine Facility director. It’s so nice to see them out competing, enjoying the sport and qualifying for the national championships!

We are SO proud of Dr. Gillian Perkins! 🐴✨

Our very own Cornell Equine Faculty Director just returned from the American Eventing Championship at the Kentucky Horse Park and she brought all the good vibes with her.

Competing alongside her beloved 15-year-old OTTB, Rose Warrior (yes, he's a gelding named Rose 😄), Dr. Perkins tackled the Beginner Novice Master Amateur division and finished 17th in the entire country. Not bad for a day at the horse park!

A huge thank you to coach Carrie Wehle and the team at Wehle Farm, to Amy Winnen for flawless logistics and hospitality, and to friends Aimee Colbath, Lisa Fortier, and Suzanne Wilson for cheering her on. It truly takes a village, or in this case, a barn full of wonderful people. 🌟

She even ran into Cornell connections along the way - former LAIM resident Dr. Rachelle Thompson thriving at Rood & Riddle in Lexington, and 2026 grad Dr. Alysa Giudici-Newsted loving her internship at R&R. The Cornell equine family is everywhere! 💙🔴

Congratulations, Dr. Perkins, Rose Warrior is clearly a star, and so are you! 🌹

Mary Barnes and Ferovanck 4th/PSG

My horse Ferovanck ‘Carl” is a 16 year old Dutch KWPN who was imported from the Netherlands as a 7 year old. I have owned him for 4 years now. During our partnership thus far I completed my bronze medal, earned my bronze freestyle bar, and my 4th level scores towards my Silver medal. I am currently working on finishing the bronze with distinction with just one remaining score to achieve while Carl and I continue working towards PSG. In 2025 Carl was reserve 4th level horse of the year with WNYDA and in 2024 Carl was musical freestyle horse of the year through WNYDA.

Together, they recently made their First Level debut, earning a winning score of 72.4%, while also competing in eventing and qualifying for the 2026 American Eventing Championships at the Starter level. Jannah is working toward her USDF Bronze Medal while continuing Lux's education and is passionate about lifelong learning.
