🥶 Brrr… We’re Sitting This Saturday Out! 🐷🐮

With temperatures dipping into the 30s and our inventory getting a little thin, we’ve decided to take this Saturday off from the Downtown Topeka Farmers Market!

Our animals probably won’t mind having us home for a change, and we’re certainly not going to argue with a warm cup of coffee instead of frozen fingers! ☕😂

❤️ But we’re still here for you!

If you’re needing farm-fresh pork, Wagyu beef, chicken, or eggs, send us a message to check availability and arrange an order.

There I was, minding my own business, doing farm chores, when I suddenly got that creepy feeling that someone was staring at me.

You know the feeling… like someone is watching your EVERY move. 👀

I turned around and…

THERE. SHE. WAS. 😳🤣

Our sow, Winnie, lurking behind OMG Becky like a creepy little stalker!

Not a sound. Not a blink. Just silently judging every life decision I’ve ever made. 😂

Winnie, girl… you could at least TRY to be subtle!

Apparently, privacy is NOT included in farm life. 🐷

🚜 NOW IS A GREAT TIME TO KNOW YOUR FARMER. 🥩🥚🍗

When fuel and diesel prices rise, the cost of moving food across the country rises right along with them. Transportation disruptions can also remind us just how many miles most grocery-store food travels before it ever reaches our table.

That’s one more reason to SHOP LOCAL.

When you buy directly from a local farm:

🌾 You know where your food came from.
🥩 You can ask how your meat was raised.
🥚 Your food doesn’t have to travel hundreds or thousands of miles to reach you.
👩‍🌾 Your money supports a local farm family, not another link in a long supply chain.
🍗 You’re buying real food from people you can actually meet and talk to.
❤️ And every local purchase helps keep small farms producing food for their communities.

We can’t control fuel prices, trucking costs, grocery prices, or what happens with the national supply chain.

But we CAN build a stronger local food system.

Get to know the farmers in your area. Buy your beef, pork, chicken, eggs, produce, honey and other staples locally whenever you can. Fill your freezer. Support your neighbors. Know your food.

You don’t have to buy everything from a local farm to make a difference. Just start somewhere.
