Monday is usually my ā€œset the week up for successā€ day.
If I don’t stay on top of the little things, they have a way of piling up and making everything feel overwhelming.

So today included:
Yogurt
Sourdough bread baked & sliced
Sourdough starter fed
Cinnamon sugar mixed
Clabber cultured
Cultured Butter made
Mayonnaise
powdered nettle for tea & pasta
Thawed meat for the week &
Planning the rest of the ā€œto-do listā€

Add in laundry, house cleaning, and all the regular Monday chores, and future me will be pretty thankful. I’ve learned that having simple routines keeps this homestead running smoother
Getting these things done now means the rest of the week is open for bigger projects, garden work, animal chores, and whatever else decides to pop up. It may not be on my ā€œcalendarā€ but all my days fill up fast
It may not look exciting from the outside, but these little systems are what keep me productive without feeling like I’m constantly playing catch-up.

The more you know.

I can’t tell you how many messages I get for rabbit meat and the amount of people that ghost me when I charge $40 per rabbit.

My Favorite Garden Tool
If I could only keep one tool in my garden mailbox, it would absolutely be my Hori Hori knife.

This thing is the Swiss Army knife of gardening. I use it almost every single day for:
Digging planting holes
Harvesting root vegetables
Weeding stubborn taproots
Dividing perennials
Cutting twine and garden fabric
Measuring planting depth
Opening feed bags when I can’t find scissors (which is always šŸ˜†)

It’s so sturdy and SOLID. You know a tool is good when it’s dirty, scratched up, and never makes it back to the shed because you’re constantly using it.
If you’ve never tried a Hori Hori, you’re missing out. I’ll drop the one I use in the comments for anyone who wants to check it out.

What’s the one garden tool you can’t live without?
