Everyone, please be careful when engaging with potential customers.
I know a lot of us small homesteaders do this because of a passion for the community, and a lot of stuff comes directly out of pocket. We can't afford to have A ) our time wasted messaging back and forth and B ) our accounts potentially compromised.
I nearly just had my Venmo compromised by someone pretending to want to buy eggs.
If anyone knows a Sydney Stewart in Scroggins and can back up that this ISN'T a scam, I'll happily deliver her the eggs as I intended to do.
However, something about the interaction was off, and after providing my venmo info, I looked at the profile and it's locked with only 3 posts. So to be on the safe side I banned her from the page, updated my password and added a security PIN to Venmo.
I initially thought it was legit after she provided me an address...however she asked for Venmo info, said she sent payment, asked for the last 4 of my phone number which Venmo does ask for, no payment came through and she started telling me to check my email...so I banned to be safe.
If you know her and I'm mistaken please reach out. Otherwise, be vigilant people!
