Hi! I wanted to introduce myself and the family behind Maddie Cakes.
We’re Ashlee and Robb Gandy, and we live in La Porte with our big, busy family. We own two businesses, Recon Roofing and Maddie Cakes— two very different businesses that keep life interesting. 😂
We have six kids altogether, so life is pretty much a constant mix of work, school, sports, practices, competitions, and figuring out who needs to be where next.
Our oldest son, Tyler, is serving in the U.S. Navy and is currently in nuclear school. 🇺🇸
Our oldest daughter, Chloe, is a senior and a Lieutenant on her drill team.
Our 15-year-old son, Kingston, is a sophomore and plays snare on the drumline.🥁
Our 11-year-old daughter, Caitlyn, is on the Spirit Squad at her school.
Our 9-year-old son, Evan, enjoys sports and art.
And then there is our 6-year-old daughter, the baby, Madelyn…the namesake behind Maddie Cakes!
She is spunky, hilarious, a little bit wild, and somehow knows just about everyone in La Porte. 😂
So if you see me at the bakery looking a little tired, there is a very good chance I was baking late, up early with kids, or running somebody to practice.
Maddie Cakes is more than just a bakery to me. It’s something I’ve wanted for a long time, and I’m so grateful I get to build it right here in this community.
