See these three cuties? This is Winnie, Webster, and Whitney Whale. They're new to our mug wall, and I didn't even have to come up with cute names, they came in that way! 😍 I love them. They make me smile every time I walk past.
You know what doesn't make me smile? Looking past them and seeing that it's still dark at 6:48 in the morning! 😭 That makes me sad. In order to turn that frown upside down, we're going to be making the most of this last extra week of summer with fabulous flavors all week.

Today's creation brings to mind carefree childhood treats- an icy scoop of rainbow sherbet on a hot summer day. Fruity, fresh and fully fabulous! Try our Rainbow Sherbet Starfish, Bavarian Cream Crab, or any one of the other dozen plus goodies fresh in the case today.

If the drizzle makes you want savory comfort, today's soup is one of my favorites. I call it my 'hug in a bowl'! Roasted red pepper tomato with a tiny hint of smoked gouda. It is a tomato soup that loves itself, and doesn't mind being a little extra. Enjoy chunks of roasted tomatoes, a hint of onion and garlic that we puree in, and the Chubby Hubby finishes it with a generous handful of fresh shredded smoked gouda and a dash of heavy cream. Not enough to be a 'cream' soup, just enough to give it some richness and those little tiny pops of smokey goodness. I can't even tell you how comforting this soup is! You'll just have to taste it for yourself.

And oh my goodness, you guys made my day yesterday!
I had an orientation meeting for my cookie decorating class at the college last night, and found out that it is completely sold out, in less than a week! 🥹♥ I'm working with them to try and add a second session for the week after. They have to make sure it doesn't conflict with anything else, so as soon as I get the green light I'll let you all know. I'm also checking my calendar to see about getting a class on the books for winter term (begins in January). Thank you all so much, I'm super excited for this new expanded class!

August 31st?
AUGUST-FLIPPING-THIRTY-FIRST?!?
How in the world did it get to August 31st already? 🥹

With Labor Day being late this year we still have a week before school starts for most kiddos around here, but it seems like summer vanished in the blink of an eye. I don't know about you, but I'm going to try and cling to the last week of summer with everything I've got!

Last day to try to Orange Marmalade milk donut. I think I'm going to head in a tropical direction next... 🍍🌴 I'm not saying we make the perfect apple fritter, but dozens of you do, and I'm too polite to argue with ya! 😘 Pillowy soft center, crunchy edges, and loads of apple. Yum!

We have a ton of Turkish beach towels in stock right now, and if you haven't checked them out, you should! The Mer-Grammy uses them as a shawl. The Mermaid likes to use them as a throw blanket. They also work great to keep in your car for random beach picnics. Or, you know, they *are* actually towels! Whatever way you want to use them, we have dozens of designs in stock right now.

Three pieces of housekeeping- if you haven't been in for a week or so, you may not know that our loyalty card is now digital! No more keeping track of random cards- it will track your points automatically now. Yay!
Our Chubby Club boxes start up again with Halloween, so head over to our website and reserve yours soon. We ship anywhere in the US, so even if you're not local you can get your Chubby on!
Finally, if you've ever wanted to learn how to decorate sugar cookies like a pro, now is your chance! The Mermaid will be teaching a class at Oregon Coast Community college this fall that covers design, recipes, baking, and decorating our stunning sugar cookies. We are the very first class listed in the catalog that went out last week, or you can check out their website to sign up. This is a super fun class, and you'll leave with all the tools, recipes, and skills to make your holiday baking even brighter. 😊

Congrats on making it to Friday. Did you see the stunning sun rise this morning? So gorgeous.

You've almost finished the week, and that means you deserve a donut! We happen to have some fabulous ones ready for you. The peach hand pie is extra amazing today (if we may say so ourselves!), but you can't go wrong with any of our flavors.

Oh Dear. Here's To Dolly's life and legacy. She was truly an amazing person and will be greatly missed by millions..
In her honor I made some of her choice donuts... Strawberry Dazzle and Chocolate Creme.

One of the main things I love about having the gift shop (in addition to the 25+ local and regional artists) is being able to indulge in the whimsical.
Adulting is Hard, so if I find My Flabbers are Gasted, I can just indulge in some controlled Otter Chaos and it lets me know Everything Whale be Okay.
Or something like that. 😊

The Manatee made raspberry walnut scones this morning- yum! Perfect with a mug of your favorite hot beverage and a view of the frothy waves. Storm season is coming, and this area is one of the most stunning places to watch Mother Nature...

If you're local, you may have noticed that the has released their fall community education courses, and this year there is a new class being taught by your friendly local Mermaid! I'll be expanding my sugar cookie decorating class to be two nights so we can cover more of the making, in addition to all the decorating, and since it will be at the college, we can accommodate more students.

I blame the (mostly) full moon, but today is one of the Monday-est Monday's I've had in a long time. I'm not sure there's enough coffee to redeem it, so it's time to move on to a donut! Now should I go for the orange creamsicle or the blackberry milk donut? Hmmmm... Pina Colada snail danish it is! 🤣

You know how every year I grumble because the Chubby Hubby won't let me put out Christmas stuff until after Halloween? Well, I was off yesterday and came in to find that *HE* put out these adorable rubber duckie advent calendars we got in. Lol, that's all on him, but it does set a precedent, right? This means I should be able to decorate early too, right? You'll back me on this, right? Good thing he's cute!

Our menu is posted in our stories (did you know if you hold your finger on the image in our stories it will pause it so you can read it?) but the puffs are wrong (see above about it being Monday) it should have said Philly and Jalapeno Popper.
