Bessie Mae was known in her family for making delicious signature cakes, pies and cobblers. While in the kitchen, she would pass along her wonderful advice such as hard work, determination and a great relationship with God as well as her tasty cake secrets. As a tribute to my grandmother, Bessie Mae, I have taken some of her most memorable recipes to share with the world. After years of continuing to bake cakes and cobblers for family and friends, Bessie’s Cakes was established to continue the legacy of Bessie Mae Ingram.

Announcement! Bessie's Cakes will be doing regular pop-ups at Métier Brewing Co 2616 East Cherry St in Seattle, WA! First pop-up is this Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 2pm to 5pm.

It's been a long while since I've posted on here. Lots has happened since I closed the business in 2019. For the past three months, I have been preparing for our relaunch. Folks have asked when will Bessie's Cakes open up. That's been a great question. I will be making an announcement in 3 weeks! In the meantime, let me reintroduce you yo Sunshine! She's a 3-layer lemon cake with lemon cream cheese frosting! Sunshine will be on the main menu to come. Stay tuned!
