Another NIGHT MARKET + New Stuff

We missed you in September but we'll be back next week, and we have all kinds of delicious new items.

NEW TINNED FISH --

Two incredible selections (Mackerel in Olive Oil and Lemon, Mussels in Sauce) from Spain's Ramon Pena, hand processed and packed and delicious. Check out the incredible video of their process here.

Smoked Sea Herring wWhite Pepper and Ramson from Fangst -- firm, lightly smoked, and just wildly delicious.

Also from Fangst -- Smoked Cod Liver -- unctuous, mild, spreadable delight.

AND -- the Fangst HALIBUT WITH ARTIC THYME IS BACK!

Of course, we have our broader selection as well, including the ever-popular Fangst trout and more.

We'll be back this week -- with an expanded tea selection, and a couple other new goodies. We'll also have DISCOUNT BLUES AND BREWS TICKETS WHILE THEY LAST!

I only got the chance to meet Steve Swank in the last few years through his incredible work with the Rotary Club of Des Moines/Normandy Park, WA and every minute of it was an honor.

If you're looking for some real inspiration today, read this -- read about Steve and all he did. May his example and memory lead us all to our better selves.

If you are at the Des Moines Chamber Waterland Parade, do yourself a favor and stop by the Friends of Carmela’s food stall(hidden by the poor placement of the Waterland event booth) hands down the best food at the parade. The Porchetta sandwich is amazing.

Just a reminder that the very first Des Moines Night Market debuts THIS THURSDAY at the Des Moines Theater, and we will be there with bells on!!

Like we said last week ... We'll be back with some of the things we ALL love: delicious tinned fish, of course, and tinned fish accessories, plus a selection of goodness from local producers and importers: teas from Apolis, Jacobsen salt products from Oregon, moroccan specialities imported by Seattle's own Villa Jerada, Kari-Kari chili crisp (also from Seattle!) and more.

AND REMEMBER YOUR GIFT CARDS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME ... so, of course, are cash and credit cards.

We 100% second this emotion! Early on we played with the novelty of AI images, but some more learning and, honestly, key staff feedback caused us to stop.
