It's been a minute! I hope you had a good weekend and are rooting for the favorite "football" (really it's another term for soccer⚽ team 🙇‍♀️).
This week’s Selamat Makan menu is here, available for local pickup in Seattle and Bellevue.

1️⃣ *Cheesy Mapo Tofu: $15 🌶️
(Tofu gravy into a sauteed sauce, filled with minced ground beef, scallion, and topped with melted cheese)
Vegetarian: $12
(Soy-based protein in place of beef)
+ Rice= $3

2️⃣ Ginger Claypot Chicken Rice: $18
Grilled marinated chicken, over steamed rice, and served with stir fry bok choy

3️⃣ Cantonese style chicken stew: $19
(Chicken filled with bamboo shoots, scallions, mushrooms & sauce)
++Available in vegetarian version++
(Replaced chicken with Tofu: $13)

4️⃣ Nasi Hainan: $18
(Garlic/ginger spiced rice with boiled chicken, side soup, and sauce)

Here's a Mother's Day special:
Order any total of 4 dishes on this week's menu, and you'll get 2 craft drinks & 2 oz. of my homemade sambal for FREE!!!

Easiest meal hack, EVER!
Busy day, tired & lazy to cook?
Make this simple quick fix meal!
Spanish rice beef stew.

Ingredients:
2 boxes of Spanish rice (I used 2 boxes in this batch. The other box is in the recycle bin. Save the packed up spice for another dish)
1 canned of beef stew, any brand is ok.
1 stick of salted butter
1/4 tspn of s&p
4 cups of water

Instructions:
In a rice cooker dump the 2 boxes of Spanish rice into the pot, along with the water, can of stew, butter, and the s&p. Stir a little bit before you push the cook button on the rice cooker. Once it's evenly stirred, then push the cook button & let the magic happen!
Once it's done, et voila...presto, dinner is served & it's delicious.

Veggie Tofu Noodle Salad (Signature dish)

1 Pack of tofu sheets
1 Lg cucumber
2 Med-Lg size carrots
1 Orange bell pepper
1 tspn minced garlic
1/2 tspn S&P (Salt & Pepper)
3 Tbspn olive oil
** 1 tspn of either crushed toasted peanuts or sesame seeds. **

- Instructions:
Julienne cut the carrots, bell peppers, and the tofu (roll up a few sheets and uniform cut into a noodle size shaps).
Using a mandolin or a noodle shaver for the cucumber.
Over medium heat place 3 Tbspn into the pan/wok, then insert the carrots & peppers, stir a bit, then insert the tofu & gently stir from the bottom to prevent the tofu to break its shape.
Then add garlic, s&p, stir a bit more, then turn the heat off completely & add the cucumber in the very end & stir some more to be evenly distributed. Optional, I normally like to use crushed peanuts, and since I didn't have any, I used sesame seeds instead. Now, you can enjoy the dish either warm or cold served. Enjoy!

Egg noodle mixed into a spicy cream sauce, topped with minced beef, Chinese broccoli, and marinated soft-boiled yolk egg on the side.

2️⃣ Ginger Claypot Chicken Rice: $18
Grilled marinated chicken, over steamed rice, and served with stir-fried bok choy

3️⃣ Malay Style Bak K*t Teh: $19
Pork ribs simmered in a broth of herbs and Asian mix spices.

4️⃣ Cantonese-style chicken stew: $19
(Chicken filled with bamboo shoots, scallions, mushrooms & sauce)
