Foundry Vineyards Seattle
Foundry Vineyards is built on the combination of art and wine. Founders Mark and Patty Anderson focused their vision on formulating a unique experience, which expands the dialog about the creative processes that underlie the making of art and wine. There is a distinct aesthetic to each aspect of the winery from the art-driven Artisan labels and the gallery-like tasting room to the spare, urban feel of the adjacent contemporary sculpture garden. Foundry Vineyards began in 1998 when Mark Anderson planted Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes on 3.5 acres on his residential property. Initially, most of the grapes were sourced out to other Walla Walla wineries, but in 2003 he decided to hold back some of the fruit to create a small amount of wine that would commemorate the work of his clients at the Walla Walla Foundry. The inaugural vintage, a blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes from our estate, Stonemarker Vineyard, featured label artwork by renowned artist Jim Dine. This wine was the basis for our flagship Artisan Blend.
WINE + DESIGN: In September 2019, Foundry Vineyards partnered with fruitsuper design to open a tasting room in Seattleās historic Pioneer Square. Featuring 60+ independent US-based designers and makers in the curated design shop, Foundry Vineyards Seattle is a wonderful addition to the Foundry Vineyards story.
