This Sat. Aug. 29, come to the shop in Ravenna to meet winemaker Michael Savage of Savage Grace winery and taste his latest releases.

With grapes harvested from his vineyards perched on Underwood Mountain in the Columbia Gorge AVA, Michael aims to make high altitude, high acid, low alcohol, old world style wines that are true to their terroir.

His analog approach has roots in music, that he performs with his wife, Grace, and recorded when he ran a music studio before jumping into the wine world.

"A lot of what I do in wine, I learned through recording," he told Wine Enthusiast. "Learning how to not mess with things and trying to keep an honesty to what you’re starting with, whether it’s a vineyard or a song."

Come meet Michael and taste his wines this Sat., starting at 11 a.m.

This Sat. Aug. 25 taste the latest releases from Woodinville's Rujaya, and learn a few things from winemaker Ben Almquist, for free.

Rujaya is based in Woodinville. Ben's education in wine started at the University of Kansas, where he took at course called 'the geography of wine.' His curiousity took flight with visits to independent wine shops like ours, in the midwest, learning from winemakers about their regions and methods.

Ben honed his winemaking and production skills working alongside his cousin at Almquist Family Winery + Distillery in Seattle.

Rujaya sources fruit from some of the Northwest’s most compelling vineyards and turning it into wines with both precision and personality focusing on Riesling, Rhone, and Burgundian varieties.

Ben will be pouring in our shop in Ravenna from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This Sat. Aug 15, we invite you to taste wines from Il Mortellito, based in Val di Noto, in the corner of Sicily that lies at the same latitudes as North Africa’s arid desert climate.

Mortellito owner and winemaker Dario Serrentino has always enjoyed the contrasts of this coastal growing area, which he calls ‘a desert next to the beach.’

Over the years, he’s learned to coax extremely elegant wines from this receding coast of limestone.

Honoring regional grapes like Nero d’Avola, Moscato di Noto, Frappato & Grillo, Dario's cuvées are a must try piece of the Sicilian wine puzzle.

We'll be pouring a rotating selection of Dario's wines at our shop in Ravenna from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Gabriel was born in Rio de Janeiro and learned to taste wine while working at Trader Joe’s and a few wine shops in California. He moved to Oregon to learn about winemaking and has been working in the Willamette Valley since 2008.

We'll be pouring from a rotating selection of Scenic Valley's latest releases from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Gabriel will be pouring from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

This Sat. Aug. 1, come taste and celebrate Washington Wine Month.

We'll be pouring a selection of staff picks from AVAs including Walla Walla, Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley and the Columbia Gorge.

Over the years, Washington has become known not just for Rhone and Bordeaux varietals, but also an emerging variety of grapes more commonly found in Italy, Spain and even South America.

The collection may seem somewhat eclectic, but each of the selections we’ve made are standouts in their own right and a
fantastic representation of Washington wines.

We'll be pouring in Ravenna from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This Sat. July 18, come to Ravenna for a free tasting of Massican Wines - the only Napa producer focused on white wines.

Italians started planting grapes in California in the late 1800s. The Mediterranean climate reminded them of home. Massican founder and wine maker Dan Petroski did a reverse migration of sorts. After a career in publishing in NY, he went to Sicily to learn how to make wine. Then, he brought what he learned to Napa.

Petroski's efforts paid off and one of Massican’s many accolades is that their Sauvignon Blanc has been featured on the French Laundry’s by-the-glass list for 10 years in a row!

We'll be pouring a rotating selection of new releases from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This Sat. June 20, taste and learn about about Two Vintners' Washington wines from wine from the winemaker himself., for free.

Morgan Lee's life in wine started his senior year at Purdue University, in a wine appreciation class most students took because they could drink in class. Morgan, though, started hanging out in the enology lab and making his own wine in his basement.

In 2007, he started his own Woodinville-based winery, Two Vintners, which sources grapes from of the best vineyards in Washington.

Morgan is known for his drive to experiment, try new styles andnew varietals in his perennial quest to discover wines that show how unique Washington wine can be.

Come meet Morgan and taste his latest releases this Saturday
