every day we see people who call themselves oyster professionals posting nasty pics of oysters that they have the audacity to serve to people who don’t know any better! If you are an oyster consumer, do yourself a favor and take a look at the oysters you are served: (super swollen belly = NOT extra creamy and delicious, but SPAWNING and full of j**z!, mantle totally ripped open and mangled/oyster flipped = whoever shucked it either does not know how to do it in a way that respects the oyster or doesn’t care and knows you won’t notice, DRY AS A BONE = the beautiful and valuable liquor has been dumped out/oyster has been out of the water too long, you might as well eat a bo**er). Additionally, pay attention to what the oyster is served on. This could be a personal preference, but our opinion is COLD, CRUSHED ICE is the way to go. Keep that baby iccccccy. A raw oyster on a plate alone, on rock salt or big cubes of ice is just gonna either tip over or warm up fast, reducing the quality of your experience.
Literally every time we serve oysters we have at least one person come up to us and say “I’ve tried oysters, but I don’t like them” and we say “hold my 🍺 .” We hand them a respectfully shucked, ICE COLD, gorgeous, fresh, beautiful oyster and they say “WAIT! Omg I loved that!” Guess what? You don’t NOT like oysters, you’ve just never had one served by someone who a). Knows what they’re doing and b). Cares about what they’re doing. YOU’RE WELCOME. 😤
