In the co-operative spirit, we’re thinking of our neighbors in Spokane who are navigating the horrible wildfires. Central Co-op is thrilled to partner with Second Harvest INW a Spokane-based organization that distributes food via mobile markets to those in need, no questions asked 💚 All Round-Up proceeds from now through 8/15 will be donated to Second Harvest!

Sure signs of summer have arrived at Central from Okanogan Producers (OPMA)!

Organic red cherries from Okanogan Producer’s Marketing Association/M&A Orchards: on ad now for $8.99/lb (reg $11.99/lb) - a burst of rich juicy sweetness essential for early summer eating!

Organic garlic scapes from Okanogan Producer’s Marketing Association/Filaree Fruit: $3.49/ea - Scapes are the green shoots that grow from the plant before it is fully mature. Farmers harvest the scapes so that the plant can focus its energy on growing the bulb instead. Scapes have a more delicate flavor than the mature garlic, bright and mild. Can be eaten raw, pickled, or blended into soups or sliced and added to sauteed dishes instead of garlic or onion.

OPMA is a farmer co-operative of six farms in the Okanogan Valley celebrating 20 years of sharing resources, equipment, knowledge, expertise, marketing, and sales. Look for their stone fruit to hit our shelves soon!
