Taste Washington Wine Month officially begins Monday, March 1st and here at Almquist Family we look to celebrate by sharing what we do best.
Nestled along side the Fremont Cut, minutes from downtown Seattle, watching rowing crews and classic tugboats pass by, and cyclist galore isn’t out of the ordinary. However, to step into a full fledged winery and distillery’s private and exclusive tasting experience is a different story. We think it’s time you re-discovered our hidden gem for yourself.
Mike Almquist founded Almquist Family Winery in 2008 after a decade of experimentation and working with fruit from many of Washington’s greatest vineyards and nearly every AVA in the state privately. Today, we honor his on-going efforts by bringing what’s been sleeping soundly in the cellar finally into light.
A one-on-one tour with Mike’s cousin and resident winemaker, Ben Almquist, will walk you throughout the winery followed by the tasting of your groups choice hosted in the newly established private barrel room.
The current offerings here include two flights: First, taste four family core wines crafted with grape varieties inspired by each family member’s character and personality. Second, the Bewitched Winemaker Pinot Noirs, featuring six wines sourced from six different AVAs from up and down the west coast including Washington, Oregon, and California.
Appointments will be available every Saturday this March at 10AM, 12:30pm, and 3pm. Groups up to 5 people at a time are welcome. We please ask that all visitors be OVER 21 at this time. More details about COVID-19 safety requirements available upon booking.
Fee: $40 per person for tour + family wine tasting. $50 per person for tour + Pinot noir tasting. Tax not included. Additionally, we highly recommend guests to consider including one of the best cheese and charcuterie boards in Seattle. Sourced on-site from in-house Table Catering Company. You won’t regret it.
