Meet the Chef

Introducing Owner and Chef Deon Austin — a seasoned culinary professional with over 30 years of experience in the kitchen. His journey began in his teenage years working at his uncle Woodrow Jackson’s restaurant, where he learned the foundations of cooking, kitchen discipline, and the techniques that turn a meal into something unforgettable.

Raised by Frances Cannon, who instilled in her children the importance of cooking with love, purpose, and intention, Chef Deon carries those lessons with him in every dish he prepares.

Over the years, he has worked in kitchens throughout the Seattle region, preparing many of the meals you know and love. Most recently, he has served the community at Swedish Hospital while continuing to pursue his lifelong dream of owning his own restaurant.

Deeply rooted in Southern tradition, family values, and a passion for serving others, Chef Deon Austin creates more than food — he creates an experience that feeds the soul.
