Hi folks. I don't post much except for market days, but for those small number of people might see me or follow me on Twitter(X). That is no longer possible. I have deactivated my accounts due to the very disturbing nature of the platform since Musk took over. I can not be part of it in good conscience. I will use other forms of communications. I will continue to use Facebook (for now) and Instagram, but I'm not the expert on social media, so there may be others. Again, there will be no more on Twitter.

As part of National , we’re going to be highlighting some of the amazing vendors that make Delridge Farmers Market great! Next up: Seola Bee Company!

Seola Bee Company is an Indigenous-owned business that sells hyper-local bee products from West Seattle, from honey to beeswax to bee pollen. Staff member Lucy (pictured with African Community Housing & Development Seatac staff member Abokor) works hard every market day to ensure that she can communicate with all Delridge Farmers Market customers, often translating her materials into other languages so that she can explain the differences between different kinds of honey. We hope you’ll come sample their amazing honey for yourself at the August 14 market!

Hello y’all! Sorry for the social media radio silence. It’s been a busy winter.

What did you all use your honey for during these cold months? The person who runs this account used up 4 jars of honey fighting COVID-19 (along with tea, vaccines, meds- yay for science!) in February.

We’d love to hear how you’ve been using yours: Stress baking? Cocktails? Straight up like a bear going into hibernation?

About us

Seola Bee Company started as a hobby in 2009 and officially became a business in 2012. An endeavor to get a surplus of honey for our own use turned into a passion for honeybees and outgrew our back yard. With an eye towards sustainability, our beekeeping practices focus on integrated pest management strategies, coupled with mite and disease treatments where necessary, using organic acids and plant based compounds. Our bees are mostly kept in-place year-round and the local forage gives our honey its unique flavor and quality. There are some occasions when some of our honeybee colonies are taken to outlying areas to capitalize on varietal nectar flows (Fireweed, Blackberry or Japanese Knotweed, for instance), but the majority of our honey is "wildflower" and will be a mixture of various nectar sources closest to the hives themselves. We have hives in West Seattle and Tukwila, WA.
