Squeezing every last sip out of summer. ☀️🥂

The sun’s sitting a little lower, the evenings are getting a little shorter, and somehow Dutton Ranch Chardonnay tastes just right from the backyard.

Not ready for fall quite yet.

🍷 Happy National Pinot Noir Day.

Around here, Pinot Noir isn’t just something we make. It’s one of the best ways we know to tell the story of where we live.

From the foggy hills of Green Valley and the Russian River Valley to vineyards perched near the Pacific on the West Sonoma Coast, every site gives Pinot a different personality.

Some are bright and energetic. Some are earthy and savory. Some have a little more swagger.

We just try not to get in the way.

Great farming. Remarkable places. Pinot Noir that tastes like somewhere.

Today seems like a pretty good day to open one. 🍷

On this day, the 250th anniversary of our country’s independence, we want to share what “Made in America” means to us?

It starts long before the bottle.

It starts with six generations of the Dutton family caring for the same Sonoma County land, believing that healthy soils, hard work, and leaving things better than you found them are worth passing on.

It continues with neighbors who farm beside us, our winemaking team who turns great fruit into great wine, and everyone who shares a bottle around their own table.

Wine may carry our name, but it takes a whole community to make it.

As America celebrates 250 years, we’re grateful to be a small part of its farming story, one vintage at a time.

Happy Independence Day from our family to yours. 🇺🇸🍷

Discover Devil’s Gulch Vineyard, one of the most extreme coastal Pinot Noir sites in California. In this short video, Dutton-Goldfield winemaker Melissa Stackhouse explains how cold winds, fog, and the rugged Marin County coastline near Point Reyes shape the character of this distinctive Pinot Noir.

Known for vibrant acidity, layered complexity, and powerful coastal influence, Devil’s Gulch Vineyard produces tiny yields and intensely expressive fruit that reflect its dramatic growing conditions.

Dutton-Goldfield Winery is proud to announce a new chapter in our history.

Read the full press release here: https://duttongoldfield.com/news/dutton-goldfield-enters-new-era-under-full-ownership

Steve Dutton and Karissa Kruse have assumed full ownership of the winery, reinforcing a vision deeply rooted in Sonoma County farming, long-term stewardship, and vineyard-driven wines.

This transition builds on the foundation established since 1998, while bringing renewed focus to the coastal vineyards and the Dutton Ranch sites that have long defined our portfolio.

Alongside this ownership transition, our leadership team continues forward with Head Winemaker Melissa Stackhouse and General Manager Ed Thralls, guiding the next phase of growth and evolution.

As the wine industry navigates ongoing challenges, we see meaningful opportunity in strengthening direct connections with consumers, enhancing hospitality experiences, and telling the stories of the vineyards and people behind each wine.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to our partners, customers, and community who continue to be part of the journey.
