Freeman Winery Since their very first vintage in 2001, Ken and Akiko Freeman have followed their bliss.

Taking inspiration from nature and learning from the experience of her mentors, w**emaker Akiko crafts balanced and refined Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Ken and Akiko Freeman Founded Freeman W**ery on the West Sonoma Coast in 2001. They craft small lots of acclaimed Russian River and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Freeman's elegant w**es reflect a sense of their unique place of origin.

This past spring our friends from W**E TO STYLE SINGAPORE came to visit and be immersed in all things Freeman. We are thankful for their amazing support of our w**es and sharing our story in Singapore! Our story is unique amongst family owned w**eries, and every day we are beyond thankful that we have built this w**ery to a place where people all over the world can share a bit of our dream through a bottle of Freeman W**e.

An early morning walk through the vineyards, with the Freestone Gap doing what it does best—pulling cool Pacific fog inland and spilling it across Hawk Hill and Gloria Vineyards.

One of those mornings that perfectly captures w**egrowing on the West Sonoma Coast: fog in the vines, cool coastal air, and just enough sun beginning to break through. This is where great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay begin.

A little w**e, and a great day with friends.

We had such a fun time attending and supporting the Wing & Barrel Rodeo last weekend. Rodeos have a way of bringing people together—good food, good w**e, a little friendly competition, and a real sense of community.

Thank you to Wing & Barrel Ranch for having us and for putting together such a memorable day. We’re already looking forward to the next one. 🤠🍷

The cellar gets quieter this time of year after the exciting rush from harvest, but the w**e is far from finished.

Once the new vintage goes into barrel, a slower stage of w**emaking begins. Oak allows a tiny amount of oxygen to interact with the w**e over time, helping soften texture, build complexity and bring the different elements of the w**e together. The barrels themselves can also contribute subtle layers of flavor and structure, depending on their age, origin and toast.

But barrel aging is as much about observation as it is transformation. Akiko and our w**emaking team taste throughout the process, following how each w**e develops and allowing the character of the vineyard and vintage to remain at the center.

Tucked among towering coastal redwoods, Yu-Ki Estate emerges through a pocket in the forest, reaching for the warmth of the afternoon sun. Fog surrounds the trees and the vines, cool ocean air moves across the hills, and you can taste the rugged Sonoma Coast in every glass.
