Freeman Winery Since their very first vintage in 2001, Ken and Akiko Freeman have followed their bliss.

Taking inspiration from nature and learning from the experience of her mentors, winemaker Akiko crafts balanced and refined Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Ken and Akiko Freeman Founded Freeman Winery on the West Sonoma Coast in 2001. They craft small lots of acclaimed Russian River and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Freeman's elegant wines reflect a sense of their unique place of origin.

Chardonnay from Heintz Ranch Vineyard has arrived at the winery, marking another exciting chapter of the 2026 vintage.

Farmed by the Heintz family near Occidental, Heintz Ranch sits just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean in the cool reaches of the Sonoma Coast. The vineyard’s coastal influence, long growing season and Goldridge sandy loam soils have helped make it one of California’s most respected Chardonnay sites—producing fruit with beautiful natural acidity, depth and unmistakable coastal character.

Now the fruit is in our hands.

For our winemaking team these first days in the cellar are where a new vintage begins to reveal itself. We can’t wait to see what Heintz Ranch brings us in 2026.

We had a wonderful time with our Wine Club members in Montana on our fishing trip! We fished, enjoyed the beautiful Montana scenery and even took a horseback ride across the Great Continental Divide.

We appreciate all the support from our members, without them we would not have the opportunity to continue our passion…farming the land in the West Sonoma Coast & making incredible wines for you.
