A couple Saturdays ago was a busy one for Mallard’s Catering Co. — and exactly the kind of day that shows what our team is capable of.

We had the opportunity to cater both the Warsaw Ducks Unlimited Banquet and Lyssa & Zach’s wedding on the same day, with two completely different events, locations, and crowds to take care of.

Days like that take a lot of planning, prep, and a strong crew behind the scenes, but the goal never changes: every event gets the same attention, the same quality, and the same food we’re proud to put our name on.

A huge thank you to Warsaw Ducks Unlimited for having us back again, and to Lyssa & Zach for trusting us to be a part of such an important day. We truly appreciate every opportunity to serve you guys!

Whether it’s one event or several in the same weekend, Mallard’s Catering Co. is built to handle it.

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Williams!

Homestead to help celebrate their wedding day — and what a day it was!

It was HOT (and I mean hot!), but it was still such a wonderful wedding in an incredible setting. We had the privilege of serving a full Italian spread, and we couldn’t be more thankful that the Williams family trusted us to be a part of such an important day.

One of my favorite things about catering weddings is getting to travel to places we may have never seen otherwise, meet great families, and make sure dinner is one thing the bride and groom don’t have to worry about. Whether we’re 10 minutes from home or 3 hours down the road, the goal is always the same — show up prepared, take care of everything, and serve food we’re proud to put our name on.

Congratulations again, Mr. & Mrs. Williams, and thank you for allowing Mallard’s Catering Co. to be a small part of your big day! 🦆

Did you know? When we say scratch-made, we really mean it.

We’re not just talking about the meat and sides. We take it all the way down to the sauces.

This ragu is being made from scratch to become the star of our lasagna, layered alongside our house-made béchamel and ricotta spread. And because the little things matter, we even use imported Mutti whole peeled tomatoes from Italy in our Italian dishes.

Could we take a few shortcuts? Sure. But that’s not the meal we want people remembering from your wedding.

We want you to rest easy knowing your guests are going home full, happy, and dreaming about that dinner long after the last song plays. ❤️

We had the opportunity to spend our Saturday feeding a great crowd at the Show-me Christian Youth home open house!

There’s something pretty special about being part of events that bring kids, families, and the community together, especially when it showcases how an organization is changing the lives of kids in the area— and we’re always grateful when Mallard’s Catering Co. gets to be a small part of it.

A big meal, a busy serving line, and plenty of hungry people is exactly the kind of Saturday we like. Thanks for having us, and we hope everyone left full!

Almost 300 people fed for lunch — and another great year in the books!

We had the opportunity to team up with EnergyLink Corp for the third year in a row to cater their employee appreciation lunch for the crew at Pro Energy.

Feeding a group this size is always a big undertaking, but these are exactly the kinds of events we love. Good food, a hardworking crowd, and the chance to help a company show some appreciation for the people who keep things moving every day.

A huge thank you to EnergyLink Corp and Pro Energy for continuing to trust Mallard’s Catering Co. year after year. We’re proud to be a small part of this event and look forward to it every time.

There’s just something special about a small, intimate wedding — especially when it happens right at home.

We had the pleasure of catering Serena & Matthew’s wedding this past Saturday, and this picture pretty much sums up what we loved about it. Family and friends gathered together, kids running around and playing, good food being shared, and a beautiful evening on a property that already means something to them.

Weddings don’t have to be huge or held at a traditional venue to be memorable. Sometimes the best celebrations are the ones that simply feel comfortable, personal, and completely your own.

Whether it’s a big reception hall, a backyard, a family farm, or somewhere a little off the beaten path, we’re happy to bring the meal to you and make it work.

Saturday was another beautiful wedding in the books for Mallard’s Catering Co. Congratulations to Emily & Zac, and thank you both for trusting us to play a small part in such a big day!

This one comes with a little different story, though.

We share a lot of the highlights around here, but I think there’s also something to be said for being honest when everything doesn't go exactly the way we want it to.

In 8 years of catering, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have very few moments where I felt something leaving my kitchen wasn't up to the standard I expect from myself. Saturday night was one of those rare occasions.

Before dinner was ever served, I pulled members of the family aside and let them know that our brisket wasn't where I wanted it to be. Nobody had complained. Nobody had even eaten yet. But I knew, and that was enough for me.

I explained the situation, offered to make it right, and told them the same thing I believe every time we cater an event: I'm there to feed people good food and take care of them — not just collect a check and leave.

Their response meant a lot. They were incredibly gracious simply because I was willing to be upfront with them. Even better, after dinner they sought me out again to tell me how much everyone enjoyed the food — brisket included.

I strive for excellence every single time we cater, but I'm also human. After 8 years, I know there may occasionally be a day when something doesn't meet my standard.

What I can promise is that I'll never hide it, hope nobody notices, or shrug my shoulders and move on.

If my name is on it, I'll own it — and I'll do whatever I can to make it right.
